Taking a little break from my batman readings, working on prelude to Schism. Got to say I'm really enjoying it . Can't wait to actually get to the Schism part.

I have the hardcover graphic novel to schism i kind of liked the prelude better . Shichsm has some cool art tho.

Yeah, the art is awesome.

One thing I don't get though is

why is Xavier not in a wheelchair?

So funny story. I was at the book store today just browsing the comic, and guess what I found. A fucking Street Sharks comic! Who remembers those toys/cartoons? I bought it obviously. How could I not?

were the batman villians comics worth the buy? i havent bought an issue of anything since batman 23.

also thinking about parting ways with some of my older comics and such...

I had all the soft plastic action figures of all the sharks. Wonder what they're worth, I'm sure I have them lying around my basement somewhere.

I heard good things about the Riddler one. Many said it was probably the best out of the bunch.

Riddler was good and so was Penguin. The other Batman villains were ok (didn't read the Clayface one).

I also loved JB's run on Avengers.
His Count Nefaria and Absorbing Man arc's were epic.

I think these are both great examples of inkers not as compatible with JB as Austin.

Whaddaya think?

Pablo Marcos was not the best or worst inker over Byrne. Marcos has a strong style that tends to make any artist look like Pablo Marcos. He toned his style down over Byrne. I thought that splash page with Count Nefaria was pretty good.

D. Hands isn't a person. It is short for "Diverse Hands," meaning any free person with inking ability (in D. Hands' case, always a big group of bullpenners and any artist visiting the Bullpen) did a jam session to ink the book quickly to get it on the stands in time. Byrne was damned reliable with the deadlines, but he sure took on an ass-load of work. He also was a go-to guy if another artist was sick or couldn't meet their own deadlines. Sal Buscema was also a go-to guy on late-deadline books. He was frequently inked by D. Hands, too.

Other good Byrne inkers, besides Terry Austin: Bob Wiacek, Byrne (himself), Scott Hanna, Joe Rubenstein, Karl Kesel.

I thought Byrne really mailed it in on the re-telling of Spidey's origins that he did awhile back. Some of the art was strong, but on some it looks like a 6 year old drew the faces. Sure the inker could have done something to make it better. But they sure did not.

I think Tom Palmer is a fantastic artist/inker. He did legendary work over Neal Adams and John Buscema, among others. His style just does not suit Byrne. Klaus Janson is a poor match for Byrne too.

And Hulk didn't take a full blast to the face. Skrull BB only gave him a whisper.

I thought it was kinda implied that after that last pic there was more of a battle. I mean when Hulk is up in the air it's pretty easy to shout. Especially because Hulk wanted him to, which I thought he meant.

Can someone preferably show me or explain why it's certain that was a skrull?

It was revealed after the Invasion crossover that a lot of heros abducted, imprisoned, and replaced with Skrull impersonators.
BB was one of those heros.

This is the panel before the one you quoted:

This is the one after it:

I'm not arguing that World Breaker Hulk couldn't beat BB (but he couldn't :D). I'm just showing how crazy it is for Thanos to not react at all to a BB SCREAM in the face.
I still can't find that image on google.

I was searching for the image above and found this. I have no idea what this is from but I want to. This is Apocalypse vs. Blackbolt.

Yeah, I've read the WWH and WBH comics. Still want to see some proof, not that I don't believe it. Just think it's lame. The whole skrull taking the powers but just not as strong as the original is lame, imo. I just finished the Red Hulk story line and I'm starting the SKaar one. Great, great stuff! But I'm a die hard Hulk fan. I'm not all too familiar with BB, but Hulk would smash him. :P

That pic must be some kind of joke, Apocalypse will never scare that easily. Not even if Galactus was after him.

So what kinda HWs did BB take out with his voice?

lol i remember those guys.

Well considering he also took Surfer's cosmic blasts just as easily... at least BB shredded his clothing/armor
