Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, and Animal Man are easily some of the best titles out right now in DC, they have tons of great dialogue and tons of great art in the book

Is there a case where a Comic Book character existed for the longest time as nothing more but a side character sometimes minor villain but then becomes his own Hero ??

I say this because I've been on a Red Hulk Comic run and I must say I really like the character , love the ret con on Ross and I like how the character has evolved

Heather Hudson became Vindicator.

Jim Rhodes became Iron Man.

I don't know the details, but John Byrne once said that every minor character who appeared in an X-comic eventually became a super powered mutant.

John Byrne first said about the Alpha Flight team that it was basically just created to give a credible opponent to the powerful X-Men team of the day.

Wolverine also seemed like a throw away character from his first appearance as an opponent to the Hulk.

And Sabre Tooth seemed like a throw away character from his first appearance as an opponent to Iron Fist.

It's funny because Iron Fist fought Wolverine shortly thereafter and thought about how Wolverine's fighting style was similar to Sabre Tooth's, long before the rivalry between Wolverine and Sabre Tooth was established.

You forgot Swamp Thing. Also Constantine isn't too bad either, though not as good as Hellblazer. Constantine is an infinitely more interesting & badass character than batman that's for sure. Hellblazer is better than any current or future batman title.

just finished the latest issue of thanos rising and i think it finally turned the corner for me. the adult version of thanos is more similiar to how he has been portrayed before. i decided to buy indestructable hulk even though i was considering dropping it because of the appearance of baron zemo at the end. i also bought new avengers mainly because this next arc is namor centric. uncanny avengers is still a good read as well as thunderbolts. issue #1 of Max Brooks extinction parade was also a good introductory issue and i expect good things from the series.

the end of age of ultron is utter shit. i spent $40 on this crap and it ended up being a shameless money grabbing vehicle to push a bunch of crap mini-series that i would imagine the majority of readers could care less about. if i would've known about legit marvel merging with ultimate marvel i definitely would have avoided aou. the ultimate books must be putting up bad numbers so aou was used to get more readers for it.

Are you certain the universes merged?? or was the 616 Galactus in the Ultimate universe.. I don't know if that happened or characters crossed over..

Very DC ending for a Marvel event..

and I still cant fathom how Marvel spoiled the reveal of Angela (who I don't care about) before the event was over.. One of the stupidest moves ever.. Why build up an event to reveal a huge spoiler, it made no sense at all..

Has anyone read the Before Watchmen series and if so a is it a good read? Being a big fan of the original Watchmen I don't want to be let down.

Anyone read Mignola and Golden's Baltimore in BOTH novel and comic form?
I loved the novel and it left me with chills. However the comic book is/was not up to par I think. Ben Stenbeck's art work just does not do it for me in this one.

I've read them both. I guess I wouldn't recommend starting the graphic novels without first having read the book.

Also, the art is very good, but more Mignola would've been better.

Well, the great Darwyn Cooke did some of them, so at least those will be damned good to fantastic.

I allowed metas if thought that they could still kick ass without their powers, and Captain America is too scrawny without super serum.

It makes the ranking difficult. Iron Fist was a decent fighter before acquiring the Iron Fist power from the dragon. But how well can Black Panther fight without his powers from the panther god? If you allow those powers then why not allow Thor on the list? Wolverine had lots of fight training, but he tends to rely on his indestructible skeleton and healing factor when scrapping, so he is also difficult to rank.

In the origin issue, Daredevil acquires enhanced senses from the radioactive isotope, but in Frank Miller's re-visioning, according to Stick, the powers are possessed by all humans, and Daredevil's abilities were derived from Stick's training. Still, Daredevil seems better than Stick. Is it more dedication or the isotope?

I gave DD the benefit of the doubt, which is why I ranked him so high, and I think DD beats Cap half the time even with the super serum. In their four match ups, DD had the single most decisive victory, although this could be attributed to bad writing. Cap probably has the edge on strength, but DD is no slouch; he curled a bar with 400 pounds of plates and used it as a weapon to beat some bad guys. However, DD kicks ass in the speed department; he can redirect bullets with his billy club, even back between the eyes of the shooter. Few people should be able to lay a hand on DD although he inexplicably gets tagged with punches and kicks by non-speedsters.

Minutemen was fantastic, Rorschach and Nite Owl were pretty good too, everything else seemed bleh
