I've been getting sucked into the Man of Steel hype.
Started reading the new 52 Superman series and bought the Earth 1 & 2 graphic novels.

I'm glad I started reading these, they're better than I expected.
Then again, my expectations were pretty low cause I was never really into Superman.

Make sure to get the free Superman comic tomorrow. It has a preview story from Scott Snyder & Jim Lee. Should be epic.

I just stumbled across the fact that Stephanie Brown was Robin and Black Mask tortures her enough to live a few days and die later....

i recently read Punisher MAX First to last. i really like larossa's take on Frank Castle. he is the artist that drew the first trade(in the beginning). the way he draws frank reminds me of Michael Myers. we all know Frank is an unstoppable force of nature but larossa makes you believe it. i also just finished the 6th Preacher trade and it was crazy as hell. i can't think of another work of fiction that is equal parts funny, horrifying, perverse, heart warming, life affirming and harshly critical of humanity. can't believe it took me so long to give garth a chance.

Frank looked awesome in that fist arc. A muscle-bound Clint Eastwood.

the saint of killers response to getting hit with an atom bomb "Not enough gun."

i've seen rumors about preacher being made into a movie and i can't think of anything that would be more difficuilt to be put on celluloid.

like how dillon draws punisher at the most 6 feet athletic but no roided out and looks like he is 50 something

i am in the extreme minority but i have never cared for punisher, wolverine, deadpool, gambit, and handful of others that are extremely popular. all for different reasons.

I don't care for Wolverine, Deadpool or Gambit either though.

Punisher is extremely popular? Since when?

since february of 1974. how many other marvel super heroes have had 3 full length motion pictures made featuring their character? how many of them aren't extremely popular?

Extremely popular characters I never cared for:

Deadpool
Venom
Carnage
Cable

The only time I liked Deadpool was when he was in Uncanny X-Force. Aside from a few clever lines, they actually gave him a serious side.

I think those films had more to do with it being vastly cheaper to make a Punisher film compared to their other characters. And going by your logic I guess that means Blade is an extremely popular comic character... which he isn't. Is he even in any on-going Marvel titles?

Don't get me wrong. I would love if Punisher was extremely popular. I think Greg Rucka's run with him was fantastic and it definitely sucks Marvel decided to end it and ship Frank over to the fucking Thunderbolts.

the punisher has been in a million video games, cartoons, action figures, comic tie-ins, etc. megadeth wrote songs inspired by frank castle. the skull logo is one of the most recognizable symbols in the entire marvel universe.

in fact, this is one of my problems with the punisher. his fans pretend they are anti-establishment and they stumbled upon some mysterious anti-hero only they get. nope, he is widely popular.

He used to be hugely popular, but not these days. He still has his fans, like me, but he's definitely not on the level of Wolverine or Deadpool or Thor and so on. If he was as popular as you think he still is he'd still have his own on-going title.

But this is a very dumb thing to argue about anyways.

i think it was an extremely dumb thing for you to argue when it is clear he is a very popular character in the marvel universe. nobody argued he was more popular than anybody else; i simply stated i am in a huge minority saying i don't like him. i would base that on my personal experience. i suppose you could hang out with a disproportionate amount of aquaman fans and i wouldn't know.
