Woah, Sunspot and Cannonball are Avengers?

Yes sir, and Sunspot is basically in charge of the Avengers now.. He leads the world team Avengers and he is trying to reunite the different factions to accomplish their initial goals..

Right now him and Cannonball are getting some front and center attention. Sunspot has recently bought AIM and combined their resources with the Avengers and theyre one entity now... Pretty damn cool.

If I decide to read a comic, how do I know what trade comes next in that particular storyline and/or how far it goes?

Don't be afraid to check out the single issues too!

But with trades they'll be numbered as well as listing what issues are collected in said trade on the back somewhere usually.

Storylines that encompass more than one title can be tricky. Some will have banners on covers of whatever comic is involved and/or have footnotes within whatever issues.

That sounds awesome, may have to check it out.

Always been a fan of both characters. Thought it was cool when Cannonball was promoted to the X-Men.

Have been reading Uncanny Avengers, digging the hell out of it.

I'm going to play it by ear with the Battle World/ Secret Wars stuff. Definitely gonna grab OML. I've never been into the Star Wars comics but Vader did look pretty awesome. Maybe I'll check some out. Dark Horse just had a digital deal a couple months back- the entire collection for a pretty sweet deal.

I really wish they used Smasher more. They went out of their way to establish her origin and then nothing. Kind of par for Hickman's course. Introduce all this cool stuff and then lose it all in some convoluted plot that nobody understands then: deus ex machina!

Well in Avengers World they were featured more but now theyre a bigger player in the main Avengers title... Also Cannonball and Smasher had a child together and were living on the Shi'ar throneworld.. all of this is being covered in the Time Runs Out storyline over the past few months.

As much as I have embraced what Hickman has been doing on Avengers since the beginning. Its just very ambitious and has so many moving parts its hard to keep track of.

And as much as I am enjoying this I do admit that I miss the Bendis era of Avengers more than ever. Everything he did with those titles really held my interest.

I am also a big Cannonball fan, I loved him when I was a younger kid. Loved when he was on the X-men. He has a really strong power set, IMO he should always be a major player in the X-Men.

I liked Uncanny Avengers a lot as well, so far the new issue 1 has kicked off to a big start. I think we spoke about this before.

Image has become my favorite publisher since they stepped out of the Marvel and DC "superhero mold" and really took the brakes off for the creators.

Same:

My monthly "pull list":

Dark Horse
Hellboy
BPRD

Image
East of West
Saga
Umbral
Invincible
Prophet
MPH*
Starlight*

Marvel
All-New X-Men
Uncanny X-Men
Avengers
New Avengers
Thor

IDW
Ragnarok

Now that I know Bendis and the X-men are going bye-bye, I kinda can't wait so I can get to some other Image titles, Astro City, Constantine, and Lone Wolf & Cub.

I cant stress enough how awesome Image comics has become.. Currently theyre putting out so many diverse and varied titles its almost hard to keep track and stay up on what is awesome...

Agreed. I've also dabbled in Low, Outcast, Criminal, Five Ghosts, was a huge Chew fan for a few years, and waiting impatiently for the Where is Jake Ellis? story to finish. Been meaning to check out Trees and MP, too. Its crazy how good they are right now.

Man, what a cheap ending to Uncanny. Intro a power like Matt Malloy and then erase him out of existence into alternauniversilia. Fuck that.

My "list":

Image
Saga
Sex Criminals
Bitch Planet
The Wicked + The Divine
Rat Queens
Wytches
Low - have #1-3 but haven't started reading it.
Black Science - have the 1st TPB yet to be read.

Marvel
SILVER SURFER - ALLRED OMG
Black Widow - Phil Noto's artwork is something else
Inhuman
Uncanny X-Men
Uncanny Avengers
X-Force
Nightcrawler
Guardians 3000
Squirrel Girl

DC
Grayson

IDW
Baldur's Gate

Hinges, Autumnlands, Spider-Gwen, Trees, and East of West are titles I plan on checking out soon, possibly this week. Just waiting for Trees first TPB to come out.

And this all because of the new Silver Surfer with Allred. I heard there was a new series coming out with him doing the artwork, figured why not.. Well. Now I'm reading all this other shit too.

I'm okay with it. He was so OP there was nowhere to go with that character.
I was hoping old timey Xavier was going to stay around longer, tho.

Yeaaaaaaah. All that build up just for some timey whimey, snap of the fingers crap.

Another poster alluded to it, but this is all possibly part of the set up for putting the X-books in storage for a bit.

Inhumans = Marvel's new "mutants".

Same here. I was just kinda, "eh that'd be some bullshit to get X back, buuuuut.. I'm okay with it". There could have been some interesting stories with a younger Xavier in the modern world.

My "list":

Uncanny X, but no "All New"? bruh...

Also, I love that you love the Surfer book and Allred.
I'm not a fan of Allred's art at all, but its nice to know that he has niche that folks dig.

Did you guys finish reading Uncanny 31 and wonder, where the hell was Havok?

I forgot all about the cover until I read this article just now.

Oops! I do plan on picking up some All New X-Men trades soon to get caught up. I've done that recently with Uncanny X-Men.

Always been indifferent towards Silver Surfer, kinda like Superman. But them Allred family pencils and colors.

Haha, totally forgot Havok was on the cover once I started reading. Your post had me do a double check to make sure I read it. Havok's another character I like too.

We all know they're rebooting. FF and X-Men are going on hiatus. We just don't know the details.

Also, fucking Phil Noto, right? How often in mainstream comics does the cover art match up with the page art? (Fuck you, She-Hulk!)

Bendis is wrapping this all up late spring/early summer w/ Uncanny X-Men 600.
Its going to be a enormous issue that wraps up his All-New & Uncanny runs.
Catch up asap.

Been a fan of Noto since I saw his work on 'Beautiful Killer'. Guy is super talented but a lot of his characters seem to look the same.. Kinda like Alex Ross' stuff.

Those She Hulk covers are insane. I actually grabbed a few issues while cruising the comic shop and wound up flipping one open and saw what was inside... NOPE.

Alex Maleev and Ben Templesmith are two other artists that'll get me checking out a title.

Clayton Henry is an artist that seems to have adapted to a more "mainstream look" and pretty much killed his art style. His Exiles and Alpha Flight stints were great.
