Just started reading Image comics Trees Vol.1 by Warren Ellis

Pretty cool premise, old school sci fi themes, giant monoliths land on Earth from outer space.

You really cant go wrong reading anything Ellis writes, especially if its creator owned. Hes been hitting it outta the park for close to 20 years now...

I mostly agree. When it comes to creator owned stuff, Warren Ellis will always at least deliver something memorable even if you don't like it.

I gave the new Squirrel Girl stuff a try, totally hate it. Marvel's on their way to ruining something they have that's actually cool, just like usual.

Looks like frank Mir.

What are some websites besides ebay where you can buy old floppies? I'm toying with the idea of buying the original Suicide Squad, but I'm having a bitch of a time finding sites where I could buy all the floppies. Ebay has a lot of vendors selling large packs of SS, but all of them are scattershot with the issues.

That's been sitting in my shopping cart on Amazon for a few weeks.

Gone through Silver Surfer: New Dawn and the first two books of Gotham Central over the past couple weeks.

Surfer, best comedy straight man. Plorp is great. The Defenders reunion (for the most part) was fun. Eternity and Queen of Nevers are totes adorbs y'all.

GC follows the detectives of Gotham around as they deal with villains and try to pretend that Batman is an urban legend. The first story with Mr Freeze has a very fun end. The next story has some good misdirection. The final arc is the first book is my favorite so far. Second book starts with some good stuff with Joker, some stuff that they used in the Dark Knight. The final two stories would make good episodes of Law & Order SVU.

If you want something more recent, you should read Joss Whedon's ASTONISHING X-MEN #1 to #24 and the conclusion GIANT SIZE ASTONISHING X-MEN. This is the BEST X-Men story in the past decade or so.

A bit OT, but how much do you think it hurts Whedon to have written one of the best X-men storylines and not have his take on a X-men movie...

Pretty sure him making the Avengers a bigger series than X-Men have been or will be leaves him feeling warm at night.

Planetary, Authority, Transmetropolitan, Thunderbolts, Next Wave, Red, Fell, Global Frequency, Secret Avengers, Moon Knight, his Ultimate work, Iron Man.

That's just to name a few. Ellis really has been producing amazing work throughout his career.

Just caught up on all the Multiversity so far. Awesome stuff. Thunderworld was amazing; would be down for an ongoing written by Morrison.

Finally bought the Uncanny X-Force trades by Rememder/Ope

Rama where are u man. I wanna talk some comic books.

My shop sold out of Black Vortex Alpha so I'm missing the opening to that crossover. Bummer

Rogue Hellboy Ale

Hellboy and red ale fans take notice!

So, it wasn't available at Whole Foods, yet.
It looks like I can special order it, so I'm going to order a case.
Drink a sixer, save a sixer, and gift the rest. I'll get back to you on the review.\

edit: not sixers, 40oz's. I got 4 being shipped, should have by the weekend.
