Final Crisis is... confusing. I read it twice and was still confused so I had to go online and have people smarter than me explain what it was all about. It was still enjoyable though for just how crazy it gets. You should read it in the order Grant Morrison suggests though:

Superman Beyond is undoubtedly the best part about Final Crisis. In fact, it could pretty much be read by itself as its own miniseries.

I feel like I'm pretty familiar with DC and they still manage to pull out some character I don't know in their crossover events.

is that a good thing or bad thing for you?

As long as it's just 1 or 2 I like it a lot. I can wiki them and get into the chars. If it's a bunch I don't know then it becomes hard for me to be invested in much...

Example of former: Sinestro Corps War

Example of latter: Blackest Night

Final Crisis wouldn't have been confusing if it was 2-3 issues longer.

Regardless I think Final Crisis is amazing

When are you nerds gonna start reading Astro City? Finally got around to finishing everything Busiek has written so far and it was fantastic. You definitely can't call yourself an official superhero fan if you haven't read Astro City yet.

When I have time which is never! Gonna attempt to catch up on some Walking Dead tho

I've been meaning to read Astro City for years now.

I always tell everybody they should read Planetary by Warren Ellis before anything else. It's Fn amazingly good

Pfff Walking Dead doesn't have an anime inspired superhero.

I need to buy the damn omni already when they start printing a new batch.

OOh next week is Multiversity : Mastermen! Is that a parallel earth where the Nazis won WW2?

I had no idea the New Avengers was basically the Illuminati team. I always thought it was a new Avengers team made up of newb super heroes that I wouldn't be able to invest my time with.

shit is awesome.

New Avengers has been Marvels best all around title for quite some time now.

I literally started getting back into comics about 6 months ago. please forgive my ignorance.

the digital era makes shit so much more accessible & convenient to read as opposed to back in the day.

Oh god I didn't know Jim Lee was gonna be doing the entire issue. That issue is gonna be ROUGH.

wtf? what happened to Jim Lee? he used to be fucking awesome way back when

he's about the same level to me, but maybe he's just going through the motions now

He's the co-publisher of DC now. So his art skills have stagnated.

It's pretty funny to watch his convention tutorials on youtube. "And here's how you draw the leg; here's the knee, then you draw the calf, and for the foot you just put a bunch of smoke in front of it."

Yeah Jim Lee nowadays has basically been obsolete as the go to art style that everyone tries to emulate. Seems like now Ivan Reis and Jason Fabok are the top dogs at DC in terms of art.
