I don't think Marvel is doing a full reboot.

If you read the press releases no where do they state they're doing a full DC style reboot

And this is gonna involve a lot of alternate timelines so were gonna be seeing a more
Streamlining over at Marvel. I think Secret Wars looks pretty sick actually. Tons and tons of fan favorite niche characters are going to be seen in this.

It has tons of potential

It's not a wipe the slate clean reboot, but things will be changed and it has the potential to erase last years major character upheavals. I suspect things will look a lot like the movie universe when all is said and done.

This is what is most likely gonna happen.

Plus it cleans up messy continuity and streamlines the universe. Plus well hopefully see some fan favorites in the "new" marvel universe.

Miles Morales in the 616 universe with Peter

Wolverine back again, possibly the real Jean Grey back.

There are tons of possibilities and new storylines.

I for one am looking forward to this

This will just be another case of Marvel doing something similar to DC but doing it the right way and a whole lot better.

marvel does everythjng better than DC and always has. Marvel are trendsetters DC always comes up second fiddle.

Wolverine could stay dead for all I care. So can Jean Grey. That chick thinks the veil between life and death is a fucking revolving door.

No they wont.

No lady Thor in the movies or Dethlok or Nova 3 or Nick Fury mode Bucky, or Inferno or Angela or Falconcap, all of which have gotten their own books and are teased to be the new Avengers. Marvel aren't stupid. They know that the people who see invest in movies don't necesserily invest in comics, and those that invest in comics would take it like a slap in the face if Marvel used Hickman and Esad to pander to the masses.

Avengers 2 will be supported by a new Marvel universe and a non continuity Wrath of Ultron, and when all is said and done, comic mainstream universe will remain completely separate from MCU at Earth-199999.

EDIT:

Also, no point in giving exotic new characters books (good books mind you) that end at issue 20, Ms Marvel included.

Wait she does or do the writers think that

These aren't real people u know. These are comic books.

And I for one am a big jean grey fan and would love to see her back.

Why do u give a shit if a book is cancelled at issue 20.

Would u rather not have had that book at all? I don't get the complaint at all.

Fanboys are so annoying

It's standard comic procedure to do a big character shake up to generate hype and sales and then undo it down the road. I think it's a good bet that wolverine will be back, that Thor will have a penis, and Rogers gets his shield back.

Sure, things won't be 100% like the MCU, but it will be closer than things are now.

Jean Grey is one of the best characters ever. I hope they just keep All-New X-Men Jeanie around, rather than bring back 616 JG. OG (Original Grey) has been ruined by multiple resurrections.

Ya but Rama without the resurrections we never would've had Morrisons Omega level mutant version of Jean and would never have gotten that amazing silent comic in which her and Emma went into Xavier's brain.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jean Grey come back, putting all the past behind her and all the issues she had with her loser bore X Cyclops in the past.

Jean needs to come back and be on the Avengers giving the team that Omega level te loath and telekinetic the team so desperately needs. Hell id love to see Storm, Jean and Sue Richards all move up to become Avengers.

They're held back and down on their respective teams. I'm over their same old same old plot points.

Rama what do u think Bendis is thinking about all this. Hickman is driving this event but Bendis is Marvels top dog when it comes to creative control. He's their Geoff Johns.

Or we can have no character Changes and keep having the same stories and the same character for the better part of 60 years.

No thanks

Morrison did a great job. He didn't have to kill her. Again.

I think All-New Jean is the best way to go. She still has Jean's baggage - because she knows what might have happened to her in her future- but without the constraints of Scott, Logan, Emma, Chuck. They can take her character anywhere.

I don't want any X-Men on the Avengers.

I think Bendis is probably glad he had nothing to do with this story. There have been some cool moments, but a tale this epic should have been .... epic, and it wasn't.

Also, young Jean is more interesting. I think she has the potential to carry her own title, tbh.

I would buy a solo Jean Grey title.

Rama how is Bendis keeping the Xmen so self contained. I mean AXIS Xmen has nothing to do with what is going on under Bendis. Hell, not even a mention of it as far as I can tell

And I wouldn't mind seeing Miles Morales showing up as a on again off again member of All New Xmen. I think that would be awesome actually.

Why am I a fanboy? Because I have an oppinion about an upcomming major event? I really don't care if a book is cancelled at 20, even if Superior Foes, Hawkguy and Elektra were awesome and could have run for double the number of issues, I was just trying to point out that Marvel has an insane amount of books that started mid 2014, and while it does make sense to have certain books run for a year, it makes a little less sense to me to have a whole bunch of books run mid 2014 to mid 2015 - especially if you use those characters to tease the new line up of Avengers - if you're only going to bring back the old avengers in the end.

While it is near innevitable that eventually Thor will be a man again and Cap will be white again, I wouldn't like to see it as the end result of Secret Wars. Not even mentioning the All-new Avengers tease posters with a new lineup:

http://www.newsarama.com/23249-marvel-teases-avengers-1-in-may.html

All-New, All-Different was apparently used last time when the X-Men were reshuffled to hell and back. This much teasing of a brand new line-up and a big change in the flagship title would have no point if things were just going back to the way they were.

Also, young Jean is more interesting. I think she has the potential to carry her own title, tbh.

Would read if she got the Cyclops treatment and got to adventure away from other established characters.

Things I am getting pretty fucking sick of:

Pages 1-4: Present/Now. Giant battle scene! Oh shit, looks like the good guys are in trouble!
Page 5-18: FLASHBACK!

Last Page: Page 4 told from a different angle.

Seriously, fuck that. Hawkeye gets a pass, but this shit drives me nuts.

Miles is definitely coming along for the ride; maybe not as an X-Men, but definitely in the new, condensed universe.

I just read Rucka's Punisher runs:

The Punisher (2011) 1-16
Punsisher: War Zone (2012) 1-5

Holy crap!

Punisher_Vol_8_8_Textless.jpg

by far and away some of the best Punisher I have ever read.

The punisher was/is one of my favorite marvel characters. Unfortunately marvel unlimited has a messed up collection of Pun, missing whole runs and issues in runs that are on there :(

I haven't read those, but do you consider it better than Garth Ennis's run? That is my favorite take on the punisher.
