Was whatever instructions Kang gave to Ahab during the whole Apocalypse children deal ever revealed?

I never understood Ahab. That guys totally sucks and can be killed by almost anyone.

I don't know why they didn't off him instantly.

Picked up volume 1 and 2 of savage dragon for dirt cheap , holy fuck this comic is 90s as fuck, pointy outfits , superheros skipping leg day and the Female characters dtessing like flamboyant hookers

The 90's were a magical time.

I've been playing The Wolf Among Us, which is based on Fables, and I absolutely love it. Where should I start on the series? Do I need to pick up from the beginning?

Frank Miller and Scott Snyder Planning THE DARK KNIGHT 3

They were as thick as thieves at San Diego Comic Con. Frank Miller and Scott Snyder. The greatest Batman author from the past and the greatest from the present. The Dark Knight Returns by Miller and Klaus Janson is one of the seminal comics work of the eighties that, in many ways formed both the current comics hemisphere but also significantly influenced movie making as well. The sequel The Dark Knight Strikes Again was not as well received as the original.

Now, it appears that it is time for the threequel. It is certainly being discussed, and it’s Miller’s plan that The Dark Night 3 be written by himself and Scott Snyder, the current bestselling writer of the Batman monthly comic. According to Bleeding Cool, the story would concern Carrie Kelley, the Robin of Dark Knight, now in her elder years. She is now in a similar position to that of Bruce Wayne in the original Dark Knight, and she is seeking her own successor to protect Gotham.

Frank Miller is too unwell to draw the book, so new artists are being sought. DC co-publisher Dan DiDio, and those above him, want multiple issues with multiple artists, including the likes of Greg Capullo, Jim Lee, Andy Kubert, Marc Silvestri and the like. BD is also told that Snyder prefers a stand alone title, akin to Sandman Overture, without the many spinoffs that Before Watchmen got. And that his artist on The Wake, Sean Murphy, is a favourite artist choice.

Frank Miller, Scott Snyder To Write Dark Knight 3, Would Focus on Elder Carrie Kelley

I love how Grant Morrison gets no recognition for his Batman work over te years.

People are still hanging on the nuts of Frank Miller. A guy who has contributed nothing to te batman mythos since the 80s.

Frank Miller
is the U2 of batman writers.

So here's my comic rant (this is going to read like a testimonial so my apologies in advance):

Back when I was younger I used to collect Punisher comics. He was my favorite character and a total badass. I remember the MAX ones being especially good. As I got a little older I thought comics were kind of a waste of money. I did not have anywhere to put them and I was tired of paying 4 bucks for something I could read in 10 minutes.

So my comic collecting days ended (though I still have a stack of Pun comics in my house).

Then all the big comic movies started coming out and my interest started peaking up. I had never read really any other comics then Punisher back in the day (and watchmen and hellboy), as for some reason Avengers, Spiderman, etc didn't interest me for some bizarre reason.

So the comic movies caught my interest into all these characters really for the first time almost. This reached a tipping point with the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. For some reason it hit a specific part of my brain that just became absolutely obsessed with it. I started buying collectibles and cups and crap from the movie. Then I looked into the comics. Bought the first half of Vol2 graphic novel, and the few new vol 3 novels, the rocket and groot graphic novel, etc. But graphic novels are still damn expensive even at discounted online prices. I remember constantly looking up the "best" storylines and finding their graphic novel collections but some of them like the omnibus books are crazy expensive.

So my interest slipped slightly again.

Then I discovered the Marvel Unlimited App. There were no 99/75 cent month codes last month when I found it so I gambled on the year sub for like 60/70 bucks (now they have one month sub for 75 cents limited time).

Anyway I subscribed in November and have so far read literally like 220 comics. This thing is AWESOME. It has some glitches sometimes and reading on my phone takes some getting used to and would not be for everyone but THIS VALUE. I can't even imagine how much it would have cost me to buy that many comic books.

I've read so many awesome story lines so far, the infinity gauntlet/war/crusade stories, lots of character origin issues, the annihilation/conquest/kings story lines including that vol2 gotg run (best ones ever), secret wars, Marvels (also goat), etc

It's so nice to be able to access just about every marvel comic ever (after that damn 6 month wait time), and read them anywhere.

if anyone has subbed to this app and/or has reading recommendations I'd gladly take those too. Trying to work my way through these crazy reading orders of the whole thing.

Cliffs:
-When I was younger, collected mainly Punisher comics.
-Didn't collect any comics for a long time.
-Guardians of the Galaxy movie caught my interest in comics, bought some.
-Signed up for the Marvel Unlimited App. It's awesome.
-Read lots of comics. Recommend me some.

Frank Miller wrecked any future Batman stories by perfecting them in DKR.

How would you guys display your comics on a book shelf

Frank Miller is a mess and so is Snyder. Not excited for Dark Knight 3.

All Star Batman & Robin was trash. Batman was angry and he sounded like a :eek::eek::eek:. Story was garbage. You could tell Jim Lee was compensating for Miller's story by creating splash pages because there wasn't much going on.

Wrong!

While I agree Frank Miller has gone ass over shoulders in terms of EVERYTHING, ASB&R and even THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN are both head and shoulders above your run-of-the-mill comic books. Heart, crackling energy, wild ideas, scintillating story moments. Y'know. Fun.

One of the things I really dig is you can track the emotional evolution of Frank Miller's Batman from YEAR ONE, to ASB&R, to BATMAN/SPAWN, to DKR and DKSA. You see the descent into megalomania. Of course, I'm admittedly biased as Frank's is my default version of Batman. However, I do very much appreciate the work Grant Morrison has put into the mythos, and how he's examined how Batman has changed over the last forty, fifty years. Meta-fictive stuff.

Most long-time comic fans forget they might have aged out of the demographic. "Juvenile" work may seem unrefined to "sophisticated" palates.

AND... It's a pretty good read, too.

Hellboy and the BPRD #1 came out this week.
Best HB related issue to come out in 3+ years. Looks like this could be a fun ride.
