You guys think they bring Onslaught to the big screen? What's the hold up? He's awesome!

I'm kind pissed (it sounds like) they're only using Apoc for 1 film. He could EASILY be the main villain across a trilogy.

As for Sinister, I like him too. I hope he shows up as well, and looks exactly like his comicbook counterpart.

Im really hoping for some good battles more than anything. Looking at singers past he hasnt had any epic fights. Really nothing is classic.

I hear you though. apocalypse should be used in more movies if this is gonna be a one shot for him

FOX should treat Apocalypse like Marvel treats Thanos.... the MAJOR endgame villain. But no, as per usual, Apocaylpse gets shortchanged. I swear, the guy has the potential to rival Thanos, yet he's turned into a jobber and made to look weak.

Hopefully this one movie is good though. Hopefully they don't kill him off, but only defeat his plan, so he lives on to return another day.

Singer must hate Sinister, because he took pieces of him and misused them throughout this franchise.

Knowing they were going to eventually make Magneto a hero, they should have been hinting at Sinister from the get go. Nazi Sebastian Shaw would have been a perfect angle for Sinister, especially since it made zero sense for Shaw's character.

Over 3-4 movies his role gets bigger. He peaks as the main villain in X-III, w/ Dark Phoenix and becomes more complicated, in a good way, in X-IV as they fight Apocalypse.

Any recommendations for a newb looking to to get into comics/graphic novels?

Here's a few to get you started, mostly superhero stuff.

Batman
The Long Halloween
Year One
The Dark Knight Returns
Knightfall

Sin City

God Loves Man Kills (X-men)

Kraven's Last Hunt (Spider-man)

Born (Punisher)

Watchmen (You will read this numerous times throughout your life, finding something new each time.)

Old Man Logan (Wolverine)

Hulk
Future Imperfect
Planet Hulk
World War Hulk

Daredevil
Born Again
Fall From Grace
Guardian Devil

I liked Preacher, Transmetropolitan, and 100 bullets, but those are pretty standard recommendations.

Give us a starting point. What are some comics you've read and liked, or what are some subjects/genres you find interesting?

When I went to look, I was totally overwhelmed. Watchmen and sin city were on my list as I've heard good things. Same as the batman list from sleepwalker.

I am not a huge fan.
I really enjoy reading on the topic of Jack the Ripper and From Hell was amazing.
Especially the notes in the end.

Moore went really far with the details.

I guess like something outside of the standard comic book hero norm, or that goes in a direction outside of the standard story.....if that makes sense. Old Man Logan sounds right up that alley. I'm totally new to this, outside of reading comics growing up. These were the standard X Men, Spider-Man, etc. I'm in my late 30s now, so want something more "mature" or something. If that makes sense...

this is going to sound awful, but the sin city movies are way better than the graphic novels imo. I have read all of them and seen both movies. no comparison. maybe check out walking dead too or 300?

Kingdom Come

Death of Superman

Watchmen

Invincible

The Walking Dead

Preacher

Knightfall

No Mans Land

Cool thanks for all the suggestions. If I was to go right now and buy something, would everyone agree on Watchmen as a first go?
