dude is fucking hilarious live.

Saw him in hermosa beach. when hes not recorded or doing a big show, he gets more personal and doesnt do much of his annoying voices. He was probably one of the better comedians ive seen live.

Katt Williams is pretty unfuckin funny.
 
Comedians are much funnier in person where there is a visceral connection between them and the audience that is not picked up watching them in a video.

I've seen many comedians that I consider unfunny that blew me away when seeing them live.

well, you pay to laugh. most people check their critic's cap at the door when it's live.

unless you go and see a bunch of guys perform at a festival or something. then you grade them on a curve.

He's really not funny, his material is meh and his outlandish excessive delivery kills the few good bits he has.

He's also known around the industry as a massive douche (per Adam Carolla).

Gabriel is hit or miss but he does have some great bits, and some of his voices are absolutely hilarious.

Katt Williams is meh, kind of unfunny but his appearance matched with his absurd personality makes me chuckle.

Agreed, those two are fucking hilarious and pretty insightful guys at that.

Adam's radio show with Dr. Drew kicked ass.

Almost anything he does, I'll watch...er listen.
 
I don't agree with Joe Rogan not being funny.
I don't like
* Dane Cook
* Almost every female comedian
* Don't like comedians who sing, dance or play any music
* I think Russel Brand is funny when he isn't doing stand-up except on occasion.
* Arj Barker
* Ari Shaffir wasn't that good from what I saw
 
Females, comedians of any ethnicity whose set consists entirely of speaking about their ethnicity.
 
I saw Carrot Top at the early stages of his standup career on tv (early 90's) and then saw him live in Vegas back in 2005. Not only was he funny, but he didn't recycle any of the jokes that I knew him for.

Joe Rogan, I think hes a funny guy especially his podcasts but not a fan of his stand up, dunno why. He does have a new special out and my friend said its hilarious so Ill maybe check it out.
 
I'm not a fan of Rogan's standup. He goes into the guy who yells a lot category which i'm not a fan of.

I bet it was like that Louis C.K. episode where the big wigs brought him in cheap on a trial basis knowing that if he failed they could easily afford to rope in a big celebrity to replace him, but if the audience reacted positively to him and he managed to keep his ratings up they made a star for cheap.
 
Agree with Dane Cook, and add Kathy Griffin to the list.
 
Re: famale comedians, there are some very good one's but they're few and far between. In small clubs/open mics they make up a fairly large %, maybe 35-4-% of acts and they're just as good. I think to be successful though you have to be VERY competitive, and it's not really a trait in most women. Amy Schumer and Josey Long are great for starters though.
 
Joe Rogan is just awful as a comedian, saw two of his 1 hour shows and didn't laugh once. I like him as a commentator though.

Yeah, I like him as a commentator too and I listen to his podcast, but he is not funny.
