Colton smith "this is easy"

Well, great. So he can be a mod and get away with bashing fighters on here and post cutesy videos to youtube. Meanwhile, guys in the middle east put their lives on the line and do the same in the cage. I'd say one is a bit more accomplished than the other.

Being in danger doesn't entitle you to respect. Heroin addicts out their lives on the line all the time, for example. If you act like a jackass, being from the military won't make people think any more of you. I didn't ask Colton to attempt and murder foreigners in my name, nor was I entertained by his MMA fighting. Hopefully he tones down his attitude before his next job at Starbucks, making a good White Chocolate Mocha is not easy!

Settle down there Nancy.

Now Kennedy next please

Comparing a heroin addict to a war veteran? Firstoff, whether or not you agree with the war or not, soldiers are putting their lives on the line, many for freedom and liberty. I respect that, I deeply respect a U.S. armed forces member putting their life on the line for my country. We're far from perfect and even if I don't agree with the war I respect our soldiers for putting their lives on the line. War is hell, I can't even imagine it.

If someone is a jackass, I will think more of them if they're in the military, and so will many other people I know, so you're wrong there. Who knows, maybe what they dealt with in war attributed to their acting like a "jackass".

I really find it pretty lame how people blew his comments out of proportion. After all, hes right. Being an MMA fighter is way easier than being a soldier.

No it isn't. Almost anyone can sign up to be a soldier, you just have to be poor or a tool. Being a UFC fighter is hard, there are numerous people who dedicate their lives to it and never get there.
I just don't see how you can interpret soldiers tooling around overseas as "protecting your freedom", so we'll have to agree to disagree there.

Because the banal truth is too hard to bare. Its hard enough when friends die or come back injured, but to know it was for no good reason or purpose is pretty devastating. It is easy to sell fantasy to the grieving.

Yup. This is Sherdog for ya. Supposedly calling fighters cans is a bannable offense here. They need to add a corollary to that rule saying "but it's encouraged by some of the mods to reduce fighters and their careers to the butt of jokes while hiding behind your keyboard".

Thanks guys for making this so entertaining. Some threads are difficult, but reading this thread was easy

I gained some respect for petey with that comment haha 10/10

goodbye colton smith I hope to never hear about you again

you guys get worked up so easily over what a fighter says. Take up yoga or something damn.

Bashes fighters when they lose. Endlessly and shamelessly bumps his own threads to promote his latest YouTube video. Are you surprised? LOL.

Petey's comment wasn't fighter bashing. Must have touched a nerve with you two though.

So what is it then when you belittle fighters and their careers and reduce them to jokes? How is that any different than calling fighters "cans" which is supposedly bannable here?

I notice a good share of people just repeat Smith's "this is easy" comment like a bunch of lemmings. A few bright users actually notice the context and that he was comparing it to people being in an actual war.
