Colby has 5/6 rounds over Marty

Chael won 4 rounds against Anderson too.

I think this is a very different story.

Chael literally beat the dogshit out of Anderson for 4.5 of 5 rounds in their first fight. He dominated him everywhere that fight went, then lost via triangle in the closing minutes of the final round. Granted Sonnen is a cheater, but then we found out Anderson was also a PEDS cheat.

Colby never won a single round against USman in the dominant fashion Chael was beating Anderson, let alone round after round.

There's no doubt that Colby has a lot to feel proud of with those two fights.

There's also no doubt that Usman clearly beat him both times, no matter if you look at it per-round, per-minute, smashing both fights into one "roundless" prolonged fight, or anything else.

Usman is just a half-step better than Colby, largely as a result of his size/physical strength advantage and being able to negate Colby's primary offensive attribute.

Hooray for small personal victories...

Winning battles but losing the war :p

He got his ass kicked twice lol dropped in both fights.

Colby has two losses to Usman and got finished in one. How about he remembers that instead?
How about he fight a legit top 15 fighter before clamoring for a THIRD title shot against a guy who beat him twice?

I can't wait for Colby to go away. He's a good fighter and all but holy fuck the guy hasn't proven shit against anybody who is currently ranked

<WellThere>

How many rounds did you give Colby overall?

Heard Colby mention in an interview that while Usman has 2 wins over him, Colby has 5, arguably 6 rounds over Usman, and upon rewatching the fights very thoroughly, I agree with him.

Not to beat a dead horse, but this in response to Sherdoggers questioning why George and Coby are headlining a PPV. I think it's now justified in light of this new information (thanks to Covington's performances).

Colby lost by TKO in the fifth round of the first fight and was losing the round. Even if he wasn’t finished, he would have lost a decision based on the scorecards revealed after the fight.

he then lost a UD in the rematch.

it doesn’t matter what rounds he claims he won.

he lost both fights. That’s a wrap.

Besides counting the points in the fights, it always seemed like Usman was doing so much more damage to Colby and never was really hurt much. Colby could've edged rounds because he was so active and spunky, but zooming out to me it seemed like Usman just had him outclassed and more dominant when he wanted to be. Colby's wrestling was good at neutralizing Usman more effective than anyone else, but Usman just has the cleaner striking.

And if they had properly explained the rules to Chael then he wouldnt have even tapped in the first place!

He was winning the 1st fight until the early stoppage and won the last 3 rounds in the second fight
That is just nonsense. He was tied 1st fight then got finished and his face broken. 2nd fight he didnt win the 5th round by any metric, outstruck and had all his tds stuffed. You people need to let it go the real him knew he lost but his persona cant admit defeat

I'm rooting for Colby in the 3rd just like I did in the first 2, but it really doesn't matter how many rounds he won. He still lost the fights.

I guess it might matter from a rematch perspective, like he won more rounds so he deserves a 3rd fight. But in the end he has to win.

The narrative thrown out right after their first fight was that regardless of the controversy regarding the stoppage, Usman would’ve won that fight anyway because it would’ve been a 10-8.

Fast forward to their rematch, round 2 plays out very similar to the 5th round of their 1st fight (2 knockdowns) yet no judge scored that a 10-8.

My point is, the stoppage was a bit early and based on the judges rationale, Colby could’ve still won on atleast 1 of the judges scorecards and arguably won the rematch.

I would honestly like to see it play out a third time, providing Colby beats Mas and 1 more contender.

I remember giving Colby 3 rounds in the first fight although one of them was very generous. Similarly in the second fight I gave him 2 solid rounds and one close one, but couldn't really argue with him losing.
