Covington is not a big attraction.
Fucking Gilbert Burns sells more fights and dude barely talks and I've never seen him flying the red white and blue.

And yes he deserves rematch. It's not his fault both Masvidal and Usman have both been refusing to fight him since his Woodley fight, and no one else made sense till after. Instead of fighting Colby, Usman took easier fights in Masvidal twice and Burns. Trying to do same now avoiding Colby. Same thing with Masvidal, he literally hid from Colby for over a year.

Ain't Colbys fault and he's still #1 contender, he shouldn't have to take other fights because of this pathetic trolling bs refusing fights. Also, Colby is clearly the toughest matchup for Usman as well as up there with toughest matchup for anyone else in division. That alone puts him right back at the top of the mix, it's not as if he hasn't fought since his loss.
 
He doesn’t but this is the ufc where deserved and earned means nothing only thing that matters is what they can sell

I'm gonna disagree with you on that one. Colby is in these forums 10x more than Burns and has way more clout. For better or worse. You saying it does not make it true. I think plenty of folks (including myself) would tune in just to see Colby get lit up. And now flying your country's flag is a racist offense? Not saying Colby isn't a dick, but if an american flies teh red, white and blue that makes them racist? Really?
 
At this point, he probably does deserve it over anyone else. Maybe Wonderboy could get a chance but that's 50/50 at best. He definitely didn't deserve it right away, but really the only thing that has changed is time, and that is probably enough to earn him a rematch. I say Wonderboy vs. Leon should be for #1 contender to fight the winner of Colby vs. Usman. Although I don't blame Wonderboy for taking the Burns fight, I think if he just waited a bit longer and tried to convince Leon to fight, it would make the most sense. But this is the UFC, so logic and reason are like #8 on the list of factors when it comes to making fights

That's the thing, his fans are a vocal minority, however their rhetoric does not transform to large viewership. Of Usman's last four fights, his fight with Covington did the worst on ppv.

All these Maga gimmick and patriotic display and still dude has the worst UFC card on ESPN.
 
He does deserve a rematch because the first fight was a good fight and he's the only one who's really tested Usman in recent years. Masvidal certainly didn't deserve a rematch, he got washed out in the first fight where as Colby took rounds off Usman. It's not about who he beat since then, it's irrelevant, he's already proven himself as a top tier WW and doesn't need to beat anyone else, what matters is it was an exciting fight and people want to see it again.

I think Colby vs Edwards should decide the next challenger unless Thompson just mops the floor with Burns.
I've said it in other threads, Thompson is the only fighter in the top 10 with multiple wins over the current top 10 WWs.

Ts is not wrong. Colby has been horribly inactive and is one fight removed from his Stoppage lost to Usman. No matter how competitive the fight may have been he still got stopped. The Woodley win has not aged well either as it's clear that Father time snatched Woodley's soul.

I would love to see Colby vs Leon. The fight makes sense. You can argue Leon needs another win to prove he can make a fight with Usman look competitive. And Colby needs a reason for some Hype, the Woodley fight wasn't enough.

I don't see any evolution that makes me think he can beat Usman. Usman on the other hand looks much improved and even scarier.
