Lawler smoked Niko Price who was a top15-top20 level WW in 1 round. And that was 4 years later than Colby fought him. Robbie was closer to when he was the champ than his last fight at that point. Colby would’ve done the same to any version of Robbie. He never faced anyone with Colby’s pace.

It was especially funny watching Colby haters before his first titleshot talking about how he was shit looking at his resume and at the same time praising Usman who had a very similar resume only difference was that Colby had beaten a few of the guys before Usman did and also more convincingly.

Colby is a F’ing machine; and tough as they come.
He doesn’t quit.
His opponents literally have to break him to stop him from fighting.

That said, in Usman 1 he was face down ass up nowhere near being in on that single taking undefended shots to the side of the head after being dropped twice.
While he very well may have been ok capable of continuing, he stopped intelligently defending himself.

Goddard had no reasonable option other than* stopping* the fight.

He definitely doesn’t have anywhere near the striking effectiveness of the champ; but he’s the king of the scramble.

If I was betting on Colby, I’d be worried about his age.

I know colby doesn’t submit guys but I get a feeling he wants to minimise risk of getting caught cause this is definitely his last chance at a belt, I just feel like he will definitely get Leon down atleast once, and then he will try and choke him out, maybe round 3 or 4 after tiring Leon out.
