Social CNN Reporter: "Troubling" To Probe CIA; "You Don't Do This, The CIA Operates In Their Own World”

I don't wish to fling poo with him. I wish to bring him to the most basic level of self-reflection where he realizes his many characterizations are directly in conflict. Conservatives suddenly saying that the people they've been calling anti-American communists for opposing the CIA and political/economic hierarchy in general for decades are now shills for those hierarchies is shameless.

As far as CNN's view here, CNN is trash. To about the same or similar extent that every major US news outlet is trash when it comes to the topics of national security/defense and foreign policy. Now, they aren't nearly as bad as some (worse than NYT or WashPo, but better than Fox News), but they are awful: this should have been recently realized when they repeatedly regurgitated the current administration's (easily-disproved) talking points on Venezuela and treated Trump's escalation of tensions with Iran as an organic conflict rather than what it was, the sole invention of an impulsive, careless piece of shit (or pieces of shit if you include Bolton and company).

However, actively politicizing investigations of the CIA in order to infringe on its sovereignty not for the purpose of democratic information but for partisan leveraging and compromising of its charter is, yeah, troubling. Trump has already significantly degraded the sovereignty and just basic respectability of the DOJ, FBI, and court system, and the CIA would just be another victim in a long line of government agencies that half of the country is driven against for no actual coherent reason other than "daddy said so."

I appreciate getting the thoughts on this

Oversight is a good thing and the CIA should answer to some outside source, but not the press for sure.

You have to take into account the work they do and the peoples life’s that would be lost if some information gets out.

Anyone knowing reveling informants or personal that lead to their harm should be held accountable even up to charging with murder carrying the death penalty.

Lots of government information needs to have very limited access but still need oversight.

CNN Justice Reporter: "Troubling" To Probe CIA; "You Don't Do This, The CIA Operates In Their Own World"

CNN crime and justice reporter Shimon Prokupecz said it is "troubling" that the Department of Justice is questioning the work of CIA agents. Prokupecz said that "you don't do this" because "the CIA kind of operates in their own world." The CNN personality acknowledged former CIA Director John Brennan was "sounding a lot of arms to Congress" and talked to people "at the FBI at the time concerned something was going on."

No one, but someone who has been corrupted would say this.

Like so many institutions these days, they are Emperor's wearing no clothes.

98% of people who read or see this, know this man has been corrupted. That this is not a honest opinion.

This is the stuff that leads to conspiracy theories. How could it not?

You have an employee of a private corporation being a mouth piece for the CIA. How does that happen without a conspiracy?

Discuss.........

hes simply telling center left to liberal what they want to hear. you dont need top-down corruption and conspiracy theories to explain that. CNN gives their consumers what they want.....reasons why their opposition are wrong, corrupt, and involved in illegal and immoral policies.

fox does the same shit.

Or maybe he is just a reporter and is reporting how Washington works or how he perceives it does work?

He doesn't necessarily have to be on the CIA's bankroll.

The idea of a segment of the government that doesn't have to answer to any elected officials is inane.

The CIA has been a rogue actor, in part, since the coup in Iran, and the subsequent ruination of South and Central America for US and corporate interest.
Long before that, mon frere.

You are handing Trump 2020, and it get's worse for you after 2024.
This is what they seem not to understand they keep going down the rabbit hole normalizing trans kids dancing for gay men and having them on tv likes its a ok and the cry wolf on Trump everyday. If they actuall went to center left talking points and stop with the extremes 2020 would be in the bag for them.

So, as liberal women, they'd be overwhelmingly more likely to question authority and the US govt than a conservative patriot like yourself.

It's almost like you're allergic to making sense.

No exactly the opposite. Women are more obedient to authority, read Christina Hoff Sommers work, and many others.

More opposite land from Trotsky.

Rest assured the swamp has been drained

Bolton, Abrams, and Pompeo are just mannequins for decoration

Our federal government was never supposed to grow this large. It was never supposed to be this unaccountable. The Founding Fathers, with the knowledge and foresight they had, tried to prevent this scenario by granting the government a very limited set of powers, and separating those powers between three branches. Yet here we are. The nature of power is to expand, always, and always in pursuit of its own interests. Fuck the CIA. Fuck the FBI. All of these people can rot in Hell.
