We're talking a guy in his late 30s with not much of an athletic background fighting on the biggest stage in MMA.

Possibly but not plausible...guys with 10+ fights get octagon jitters. What about a guy making his pro/amateur debut? CM Punk has experience with crowds but this is a bit different...no blood capsules or whatever here.

I would love it if he steps into the cage and turns out to be an absolute monster. It would make these sparring videos perhaps the biggest trolljob of all time. Watching these vids and seeing as he is in my weight class I feel pretty sure I could beat him handidly - though if he has trained every day for a year since this was recorded things could have changed. Any real athlete can realize what a mismatch this is. Punk shoulda played sports when he was a kid. He has the coordination of Helen Keller trained by Coach Edmund.

Sure, he has stones but he doesn't have a fully working brain. Those that played sports growing up realize this guy is toast. Those that played video games, watched WWE, think he has a chance. It is reality vs perception.
