Growth is human nature you moron. It's why civilisation exists in the first place. So yes, it applies just as much to communist states. Man has been wrecking the natural world for the last 10,000+ years. There used to be cedar forests all across the middle-east, as far east as Persia. North Africa used to have dense forests too, but the Egyptians and others cut them all down. Did capitalism exist back then? Engage brain.
In capitalism harm is actively encouraged through economic growth. That doesn't mean non capitalist societys can't cause harm. You're just repackaging the stupid "USSR had pollution too" argument. Engage brain.
