Cigars Version II

If you find yourself in Houston, give me a shout out. I have 2 humidors full of them - I'll gladly spot you an Opus, Bro!

And that goes for the lot of y'all who post regularly in this thread (and the first one).

haha, good to know! I had an incident at work that I was hoping to never have to deal with and it turned out alright, so I decided that was a good enough excuse to smoke it today lol. Fantastic cigar, an unbelievable amount of smoke, I was really impressed...also my accountant (wife) says I have enough cash squirreled away to buy a box of something or other this next week, so that's exciting...so now I need to start shopping lol...I have been on a huge Camacho Corojo kick lately, so it might be that...we'll see.

I may pick up smoking pipe tobacco. Just seems easier to have a pipe and a bag of good tobacco in hand over some of the equipment needed to store and enjoy a cigar.

I do both pipes and cigars, and actually I found it easier to just grab a stick out of the humidor and light up than to take the time to pack the pipe correctly, light it, relight it, etc, I still smoke a pipe on rare occasion but just prefer the cigars now. The thing that got me with pipes is tongue bite, but if I smoke through a churchwarden it's not bad. I still gotta recommend Shortcut to Mushrooms pipe tobacco from justforhim.com...just a great tobacco.

I use an inexpensive butane "torch" type lighter, works in the wind, works indoors. Something like this, has three flames:

I spent a few bucks (still not expensive really) to get highly refined butane to fill the lighter with, so that the fuel doesn't impart a flavor onto the cigar.

I already have a Zippo case so I was looking at this.

dude

Im ready, had some changes in my work life but now i have a lot more flexibility.

lets make this happen

i have become a big fan of cigars in the last year and have really enjoyed trying different brands. My favorites thus far are the fuente anejos by a longshot but I also have enjoyed the 1926 and 64 pedrons, jd howards, perdomo 20th anniversary and several more. The only issue I have is that I am a terrible cigar smoker as I inhale about 75% of the cigar which I know has to be ridiculously unhealthy. I quit smoking cigarettes a little while ago but I cannot make myself not inhale cigars, anybody relate?

I'm honestly kinda dumb and probably inhale as well....

I returned to my first love the other night and fired up on Montecristo Court Tubo.

Still a magnificent smoke. A corona so it only take 40 minutes, and it had been in my humidor for nearly 2 years so it was perfectly blooming.

Good times.

I have one of those left at home. Waiting for it to thaw outside, gonna build myself a fire and re-fucking-lax with that and a few fingers of scotch.

It took a few years, but I adapted. You come to focus on the sensation of rolling the smoke around in your mouth. After a few years you will find it uncomfortable to inhale.

Signs I Sherdog Too Much:

My first thought was:

I've got a 2-week trial in Dallas this month, but yeah after that we'll figure something out for sure.

That's some good taste, dude - those are excellent cigars.

yeah feb is busy, visa renewal, wedding, bachelor party.

and there is no such thing as sherdogging too much

got a good order in a few days ago, ordered a box of Camacho Corojo Gigantes, a 5 pack of Para Ti Prominentes, a 5 pack of Joya De Nicaraguas, and they threw in a Camacho Robusto Sampler, my humidor is officially over flowing lol...good time to talk the wife into me buying a bunch of wood to make more humidors I think! :)

Fuente Anejo Shark today, cant think of which number.

What a great cigar. 2 years aged in my humidor, not sure how old overall, slow to light and took a couple of goes to get it fully firing, but such a rich and earthy aroma.

How are you all my friends?

Bought these for way too much. Could have gotten them for 65 bucks cheaper on the cigarsprintsale site

Anyone have any experience with pipe smoking? Is there any correlation or differences between the two? I'd like to smoke a pipe every now and again.

I picked it up just prior to going to Afghanistan. Its a much shorter smoke. More work than a cigar but good flavor like a cigar. Much, much cheaper to get pipe tobacco than cigars. I now have 4 pipes in addition to my cigar humidor with cigars. I picked up a sweet meerschaum pipe that is coloring nicely while overseas.

With all that said, I think a cigar is a much better smoke but the pipe is nice for a relaxing smoke with some flavored tobacco.

Nice!

Thanks pal

Watch it for a few days, take notes on the ones that interest you, they seem to circulate the same 50-70 selections throughout the day. And compare prices with what you see on the other sites. I guarantee you that you get the same ones for roughly half of what you normally do (except top shelf of course but still cheaper)

I reckon you will get away with 3-4 dollars per stick on average for really good cigars.

Also shipping is free!

Tried a few new cigars visiting the smoke lounge in Minneapolis my brother frequents.

A CAO Flathead which was nice but had such a tight draw I had trouble enjoying it.

Also, a Gurkha Assassin that I enjoyed quite a bit. Both very full-bodied cigars. I'm liking these more than the milder ones, for sure.
