Well, the material exists already so he isn't be forced to steal from animes.
Think he actually stole Inception from a Duck Tales comic, didn't he?

I think Nolan's > Night. But Night is very good. Nolans best is > Night's best tho, and Nolan is far more consistent.
Signs is my favorite Night movie.
Prestige and Batman Begins are tied for my fave Nolan flicks.
Signs and The Village crush any of that cold ass shit that Nolan makes.
Not that I'm a Nolan hater. I'm salivating at the idea of watching Dunkirk this weekend. But can he deliver the M. Night experience when Night is on his A-game?
No, he cannot. He is less than.

I wonder if its ending will be as pretentious as it is ambiguous...
Agreed with this. M. Night is dominant. Nolan is also dominant, but not as dominant as M. Night.I'll take on all comers in this debate.
I am an M. Night truther to the end.
And The Village is his most underrated, and misunderstood, film.
It's not just underrated. It is often falsely regarded as something--anything--less than what it is: A masterpiece.
IDK what it is about Nolan but he just comes across as so fucking pretentious. Which is strange because he doesn't seem like an asshole.
HOW can he do it here though? Dunkirk had a pretty easy to show conclusion to the damn event. The ambiguous endings.
It's his thing, funny that M Night is being debated against him in this thread because he's famous for his thing(the twist) only for people to get sick of it.
Nolan is kinda doing the same. Playing that card a lot. Can't imagine he does it here which is good.

Considering it's by one of the most well known directors working today and starring one of the most popular leading men in Hollywood I feel like it's been a pretty disappointing marketing campaign. I don't think I've seen a single trailer on tv.I'm kind of embarrassed that I only heard about this movie earlier today. Looks fantastic. I might actually go to the movies more than once this year.

I have almost zero interest to see this and i love Nolan novies.
You wouldn't think it's possible but directors aren't normal people. Can do some funny things along with the great stuff
Ridley Scott likes to believe Deckard is a replicant.
James Cameron is making Avatar 2-70... Stopped terminator universe at T2.
M Night made the happening.
George Lucas....
Still I hope not.
Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors, Hans Zimmer makes the best scores, I love everything Tom Hardy does and WWII is the most fascinating event in history yet I feel the same way. I can't explain it. Trailers just haven't got my attention.I have almost zero interest to see this and i love Nolan novies.

The top was wobbling damn it!Besides Inception, what other ambiguous endings has Nolan done?
And imo even tho the ending of Inception was ambiguous, it seems fairly clear to me that Dom was dreaming the whole thing and still asleep at the end.
