Nobody wanted it, nobody asked for it, but you're getting it anyway.
The best Christmas movies marathon
I figured I would knock out the obvious one out of the way first
Movie 1: Die Hard
Synopsis: An NYPD officer tries to save his wife and several others taken hostage by German terrorists during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles.
My Rating: 8/10
I have seen this movie at least 20 times or more. It's a really great watch but I use to enjoy it more than I have the last 2 times I have watched it. Bruce is a great good guy, Rickman is a great bad guy, there's a great cast surrounding them in Carl Winslow, Richard Vernon, and Jake from the Goonies. It's a good story with pretty good action and memorable scenes. But it's way too far fetched and unrealistic at times.
When McClaine and the first brother fall down the steps, it didn't look possible at all they he broke his neck. The second brother was hung by Mcclaine (apparently Bruce has the same strength as Arnold) but yet hes still alive at the end for the surprise scare but is taken down by Carl Winslow.
Also John Mcclaine isn't making the jump from the elevator shaft to the air duct tunnels, but I can look over that. I can't overlook him being shot, beaten up and then stepping thru glass. The glass alone he would have had to walk with in his feet trying to find the bathroom after he left. His feet would have been too badly cut up for him to walk around. If you stepped on glass you would have to instinctively fall over grabbing your foot. You wouldnt be taken more steps let alone continue running with them in your feet.
I also wasn't a fan of when John and Hans first meet and Hans tricks him by using a different accent but then we discover John knew it was him the entire time. Movie should have been over there.
Die Hard is a great movie but it's nowhere as excellent as I use to think it is.
