Reviewed the NJ commission rules (ya know, since NJ always wants to be special with it's rules and doesn't accept the unified rules) and there's language there for 3 consecutive fouls to be eligible for DQ regardless of intention
Damage wasn't a special criteria at that point. Hendricks wins in today's scoring, but at the time, GSP was the rightful winner.I went off of damage in the first and Hendricks got back up after the first GSP attempt, landed some nasty elbows in the 2nd exchange on GSP against the cage. Had GSP busted a bit and even got the better in the exchanges towards the end of round 1, GSP had a few 1-2's that were close but Hendricks dodged them well IMO. I had Hendricks 10-9 in the first not by a mile but clearly he was up. Most of the people around me at the time during that fight were even surprised that Hendricks was able to land with semi wobbling shots on GSP. We almost were quiet thinking GSP could have a real challenge on his hands. Your absolutely right on the 3/5 and 2/4 split though. Yeah not as a big a robbery and maybe a little champion bias but yeah I love GSP and thought he lost that fight although not egregiously. I dont recall the Davis vs Machida much but my memory is not up on that fight I will have to check it back again. Never liked Phil Davis style he was a boring wrestlefcker
**was pretty trashed when I wrote the initial post now sober I reckon there have been alot worse robberies lol**
All night was atrocious. To the point I was happy I didn't watch it live. I didn't know the results pre watching, but I would have lost my shit watching that live.It was one of the most bizarre nights of officiating I’ve ever seen
It's something like: Disqualification occurs after any combination of three or the fouls listed in (a) above or after a referee determines that a foul was intentional and flagrant.lemme guess, it's vague as fuck like all the other shit in the ruleset?
Don’t they know people are trying to gamble on this shitAll night was atrocious. To the point I was happy I didn't watch it live. I didn't know the results pre watching, but I would have lost my shit watching that live.
I gave up gambling on MMA. You have more chances just betting on greyhounds or horses and picking the biggest roughie.Don’t they know people are trying to gamble on this shit
I don't know how refs are supposed to treat the thumb on an otherwise closed fist, but I think it was the thumb. That could be considered a poke or a punch, but Chris acting like that justifies his bullshit or the ref equating that to Chris's constant fingerjabs is utter horse crapThe worst part is the ref tried to cover for Chris by claiming Bruno also eyepoked him when he clearly didn’t. The ref needs to be investigated and the win needs to be overturned. Completely illegitimate win.
Ok, fair enough. You have a better memory than me of that fight. I dont usually rewatch fights its all off fuzzy memoryDamage wasn't a special criteria at that point. Hendricks wins in today's scoring, but at the time, GSP was the rightful winner.
Hendricks was being controlled when he landed most of his offence, in a time when control was more than enough to win fights.
The double leg and attempted guillotine are equal to a knockdown at that time, people just forget because it ahppened early. Put that same sequence in the last 10 seconds and it's not even controversial.
People also forget that GSP was touching him up at range and landed a headkick that round also. You didn't have to drop people then, just land good scoring shots or takedowns.
Elbows from defending takedowns didn't score highly. People were just surprised because GSP never struggled with takedowns before then.
GSP won the first in a close round. Arguing damage for Hendricks without it being a criteria is wrong and there was nothing significant anyway.
Chris was handling him esy
Not even close
Silva was looking for a way out
