Anderson should have zero wins in his last 8. That Brunson fight was a robbery. It won robbery of the year in all of the MMA media outlets. The only reason that there wasn't more outrage is because people don't take Brunson seriously.

I thought Brunson won but it wasn't nearly as bad a robbery as people say it was. Anderson did more damage, Brunson did nothing with his takedowns, and the shots Brunson landed did absolutely nothing to Anderson.

There really is no reason why Chris shouldn't want the third fight. If he wins on Saturday, Anderson would be a step up from Akhmedov and would allow Chris to build some momentum. The only reason he'd turn down Anderson is because he's afraid that their is a shot he would lose to him.

Yeah, but all of this damage adds up. Anderson has no doubt been on the decline for at least 8 or so years, but he's sort of stabilized. He's still a very solid fighter. Weidman has been rapidily declining from fight to fight because gets brutally knocked the fuck out. The Rockhold beatdown, the Jacare and Reyes KO, the Yoel Cuban knee missle from hell, all brutal shit. Anderson has not taken much damage whatsoever, Israel buzzed him in the first round of their fight but Anderson quickly recovered, the Cannonier TKO was via leg kicks so that doesn't effect his brain, etc. Even in Weidmans win vs Kelvin, he nearly got KOed towards the end of the first round. He's way too hittable and his chin is fucked

44 year Anderson has 1 KO loss (at age 38) in 45 fights. For comparison, 35 year Weidman has been KOd 5 times in 6 fights (only 19 fights).

Even so, Anderson has been competitive vs the best in the world while taking limited damage. It would be a facinating fight. I suspect Chris is not interested because he doesn't want to risk losing to Anderson.

14-5 is not usually the end of the world in mma. Getting brutalized in 5 of last 6 is though. Not telling the man to retire, but if he gets brutalized again, I hope he really evaluates his career and where it is. It’s sad.
