Chris van Heerden's response to Conor's sparring video

Alright..

The video McGregor put up is obviously edited to show his good parts, but it's still 6 minutes of sparring. You can't make someone look good for 6 minutes out of what, 4-6 rounds, if they get worked.

The other video was an even smaller sample size, and Conor still didn't look terrible there.

can somebody link this video?

Conor didn't upload the video, he had nothing but nice things to say about Chris Van Heerden, and now all of a sudden this guy is just talking crap about Conor. It's not like Conor said he sucks or anything. This just shows me this guy has no class. You can hate on Conor for whatever reason, but you can't deny he has class, and shows respect when it's all said and done. But this guy just seems bitter, maybe he did get worked by Conor :P

Van Heerden sounds like a prick. He's the one that came out first and pretty much threw Cnor under the bus. What happens in sparring, stays there. You don't go out and bad mouth someone that you just sparred with. Now as a fan, I don't mind, I like to hear the real happenings. But as a pro, Van Heerden should've kept his mouth shut.

Those people that uploaded the video work for Conor

Boxing is the sport of punching.
If you are learning punching not from boxing you are making a mistake.
The kind of mistake guys like Conner take advantage of.
Until of course they meet their equal in a Diaz brother who, what a surprise, is also a boxer lol
I was with you until you said they were equal. Conor's boxing compared to nates looks like a woman at a cardio boxing class.

This guy is clearly salty that a non-boxer bullied him around the ring. I don't care if Conor was out cold on the canvas during the unedited minutes of the sparring, he not only held his own but was dictating the terms during the minutes we saw, and for a novice against a professional that is impressive, whatever this guy says.

Hate can really distort perception.

Conor was getting the best of the boxing until Nate landed the 1,2.

Van Heerden looked battered and bruised after the spar and I found it odd at the time how he insisted Conor didn't hurt him. He seemed uncomfortable talking about the session and was slow to give Conor any credit. He also talked about just getting off a flight. Seemed to be making lots of excuses for a guy who supposedly dominated a novice.

If he genuinely handed Conor a beating he'd have said "the kid did good", "I'm impressed". He was instead dismissive of him to the point that you knew things didn't go quite as he planned, as this video proved. Also, really shitty to have a pop at Conor on social media after Conor never had anything but good things to say about him.

It's odd. It's not like Conor is dominating him - Van Heerden's a pro Boxer, ffs. I heard him do one interview where he said that Mayweather would beat him; which I don't think anyone would dispute, but I thought he gave an honest assessment on how Conor would fare at Boxing in general or at least didn't embellish how the sparring went and claimed that 'Conor could be a genuine high level Boxer if he switched over'

I thought it was a bit odd that he referenced how he was only back from holidays and that was his first bit of sparring in a while. There's publicity to gain for Van Heerden by sparring with Conor and now this supposed beef over what he probably feels shows him in a bad light. What did he say that threw Conor under the bus?

Only thing I can think of is that he thinks Mayweather would beat him and Roach saying that Conor sparred with some of his guys - I'm pretty sure Van Heerden is one of them - and the only one he sparred. Plus, if that fight with Mayweather ever happens, I doubt Roach would be coaching Conor.

Conor has legit boxing skills, but seriously he still coming in with hes hands down low. I feel hes not doing enough work with hes defense. If he fights Diaz like he did last time he be hit again.

Well he doesnt have a jab, that's true. lol this shows how bad mma boxing is when Conner is one of the best boxers in the UFC lmao

he's not one of the best boxers in MMA.
he recently got outboxed by another MMA fighter, you must 've missed that.
many fighters did a better job against nate than he did

Curious to hear your opinion on how Diaz out boxed him.

1) Conor fights Diaz and he gets embarrassed as his boxing gets exposed.
2)He whines and makes excuses
3) He spars with a boxing champion better than Diaz and edits the video down to his few bright spots.
4) His partner calls him out for the editing.
5) Delusional Conor fangirls claim hes "salty"

didn't you see the fight? in round 2 nate tagged him a few times and he turned into a panic wrestler.
He admitted it himself after the fight hehe :D
or maybe you think a striker who probably didn't attempt a single TD in his UFC career would suddenly chose to do so after getting tagged, against a BJJ black belt who has plenty of submissions on his record, BUT for fun, not because he was outboxed ?

I watched the fight. But I didn't ask how the fight finished. You said Diaz out boxed him - I was curious to know what made you think Diaz did.

A lot of the above is true, but a lot of the revisionism of the fight is a bit skewed. You said other fighters put it on Diaz better than Conor did - that's something I'd dispute - but I know someone will point out that Diaz didn't have a full training camp or was only getting warmed up in the first round, so that's always going to muddy the debate.

Conor landed some clean shots in the 1st round, but he blew his load in that round and for the second, stood in front of Diaz and at the end of his punches and you can say the other phrase Conor coined that he was 'stuck in the mud'

I'm not really sure what the last part of your post means. If you think I'm making excuses or trying to undermine Diaz' Boxing - that's not the case. To be out boxed would suggest that from start to finish Diaz was piling pressure on from the start. But it was an MMA fight, not a Boxing one.

Why should anyone on this site even care? Boxing is about hiding behind a rule set that limits your opponent's means of attack. The best boxer that ever lived has thoroughly ingrained habits that would get his head kicked in within one round of an MMA fight.

Conor isn't a Boxer. Sure he is a Jnr Ammy Champion but is stylistically a Karate and TKD striker. Conor works to his best drawing his opponents into dead spaces, something he did masterfully when he defeated José. I wouldn't like to see him try change his style but adding to his game. I want to see him make submission attempts in the future... Maybe not against Nate though.
Why do people like you act like they know it all just because they watch fights? I train around some of the best cuban pro/amatuer boxers in miami. Conor has GREAT boxing, he may use other martial arts but that takes nothing away from him being a great boxer.

He would hold his own sparring at the gym I go to against some top amatuers and good pros. If you ever actually really sparred and lived a boxers lifestyle you would understand that by watching this video, dude is game.
