Chris Lytle is a LEGEND!!!

Fun action fighter. Not a legend.

He was gonna fight Condit in early 2011 but Carlos pulled out and Lytle almost got finished from a flying knee by Brian Ebersole who came in on two weeks notice. But during that time there was talk for a title shot for Lytle.

Their first fight sucked (Lytle won imo), but I thought the rematch was fun

I watched their rematch only once, all I remember was them jabbing at each other for 15 minutes, and Serra giving some GSP-esque apology in a post-fight interview, apologizing for his performance. Then again, maybe my memory is tainted by the disdain I have for that awful card - that was the same card when CroCop and Mir danced for almost 15 minutes, Sherk got a b.s. win over Dunham, and Bader and Guillard just coasted to decision wins. But back to the topic of the thread, much respect once again to Lytle.

Iirc he had a knee injury for that fight as well. I remember that asshole lol he had his chest hair shaved into the shape of an arrow.

Toughest fighter EVER, and versatile as fuck too. Never been finished..... and had 18 losses.

No juice, no drama, no horseshit. Just his wife, his kids, his firehouse, and his awful accent. I was never so happy for another human being as I was the night he retired with 2 extra bonuses and a last-minute guillotine.

UFC hof ---yes, guaranteed.."legend" is a bit over-used by fight fans.I dont know if Chris is of legend status but he was stand up fighter who brought it everytime and won more than he lost...

Lytle was awesome, for sure. I think the term "legend" is overused and he doesn't qualify. He was as exciting as anyone, though.

If Lytle is not a legend then neither is Couture who has a bum record.

And wasn't he always still a full time fireman?

Lytle is definitely one of hte most exciting fighters of all time.

And I still say he beat Serra in the TUF finale, but I think they gave the win to Serra because he was a bigger "personality".

One of my all time favourites,
Lytle Bless

Lytle also only trained part-time while being a firefighter. I like the random dumbass above that declares, Lytle is not in fact a legend, because he says so. What a tool.

Never being finished, alone, makes him a legend. His legendary FOTN's are a whole other story.

its hard to not be a fan of a guy like Lytle he is everything you would want in a fighter.

Loved watching him fight! Really bummed out that we couldn't see the Condit fight go down.

If lytle isn't a legend, neither
is cerrone. He was "company
man" before that shit was cool.
Before they were making a shit
ton of money for it, too.

Dude etched his place on the
MMA halls of glory. He'll remain
a perennial top ten personal
all time favorite fighter

Along with bj, hellboy, sakurai,
& every other bad mother fucker
who went in there against anyone
& fought like tomorrow would
never come.

War lytle!

The thing that was always impressive is he's never been finished (besides cut stoppages). Considering who he's fought and his exciting style that's really impressive. 22 sub wins vs 0 sub losses has to be one of the best ratios of all time.

I also thought it was impressive that he never stopped working as a firefighter. I like how he retired too. Great career. One of my all time favorites.

Unsung? Everyone knows about him, and I haven't met a single person who didn't like and respect him. He's pretty sung.

Nah. If he was as sung as you thought he was, he'd have legions of haters.
