Pot - was thinking water purifier, but the pot is more versatile.
Mirror - could help with signalling a ship or plane during daylight

You can make fire with out matches. Takes a bit longer but possible.

Those choices are convenient, but your matches will run out, you could always just build a fire the old fashioned way. If you don't know how long you'll be on the island, you may as well build something a bit more permanent-ish for shelter, plus while surely the tent would be great, it's taking up space for more important things. So many other ways to catch fish than a rod....and how would you purify your water without a pot?

You guys not picking Tent or Tarp would die pretty quick. You underestimate the threat of exposure.
