i live in vegas, so obviously we get a lot of tourists. and i concur with the ts, chinese tourists are rude as hell for the most part. they dont give a fuck. they walk over you, through you and just act like you are not there. and they get really loud with no consideration to anyone or anything around them

Especially in the casinos, I live in Cali and like to gamble at the Indian Casinos but its filled with Chinese tourists and they are rude as hell man, they wait for you to lose your money just to take over the machine, some dont even wait for your to get up they are even kicking you off

yea, really bad there. they go in huge lines straight off the bus trampling through, cutting right through the pits, etc. dont ever try playing black jack with them. they have no idea how to play and make incredibly stupid moves that inevitably make you lose.

I remember playing some of the slots and this idiot was near the card tables yapping watching his buddy play he had his arms cross and he kept spitting near the trash not in it, and smoking it was gross finally the casino lady had to tell him to stop spitting. I couldn't enjoy my Keno game, it was gross and that machine happen to be loose

also they mess up the buffet, they come there in droves on buses, out here in Cali there is a casino called Morongo and San Manuel both are loaded with Chinese tourists, I dont even know why they love to gamble if they dont even live here wouldn't they want to go site seeing like the Germans do when they come here? instead they go straight to the casinos.

They are loud and obnoxious, I remember waiting in line at the Casino buffet it was like 150 deep and I was stuck behind some loud Chinese and one of them farted and it smelled like death and they were so loud, I mean why do they have to talk so loud is something wrong with their ears?

It was even worse when I actually rode one of the tour buses to the Casino, packed with mostly Chinese and Mexicans but the Chinese again were so loud, all the way to the casino and back I had to hear them yelling and yapping super loud and against spitting.

One of them even got up open the bus window and spit out and some of the spit splattered on the guy next to me because the wind while driving pushed it back and he got so pissed and the buss driver had to pull over because he was read to kick that China mans ass.

Yep, Chiang Mai sucks major balls in March. Bangkok hasn't been much better though over the past 2 months. Some seriously shitty air quality. Never seen it this bad in 10 years. Some days it reminded me of Blade Runner with how bad the visibility was. I check the air quality index and it was ranked top3 worst in the world for a couple days (worse than all Chinese cities).

I'm staying in the Asoke area near the BTS. Last night as I was walking I looked up and the air was "thick" (looked like a mix of pollution and humidity) and all the building lights had that glowing look. I thought "Wow, looks just like Blade Runner. Pretty cool. But I'm breathing that shit. Not cool." hah.

I'm actually going to leave BKK early (in a couple days) and head to Korat//Khao Yai.

I lived in a mountain village that had backpackers come through and Australians are easily the biggest dicks. People say American tourists are bad -- I have rarely see that, but many Australians will routinely tell you about stuff being better in Australia (closing time, cost of booze, beer, ...) than 'here'. After about 6months I started telling them, "you know no one gives a shit. Why don't you enjoy this beautiful place and STFU".

They been getting people sick all the time. Every time ive been around large group of chinese tourists they constantly sneeze without covering if they do sneeze they sneeze in their hand with all the saliva and continue to play and touch objects.

The worst I seen was when they went to the buffet and were touching the bread rolls with their hands to squeeze it and see which was softest and put them back, they didnt use the tongs so they put their dirty hands all over the bread rolls at the buffet, they will spit on the floors, and talk all over the food so their saliva is splattering.

My mother got sick bad I dont know what type of flu she had but we went to this morning brunch thing here in So cal and a bunch of Chinese tourist who were staying at the motel next door came inside to eat and one of the guys kept sneezing he sneeze on my moms back while he was in line and I said wtf man we had to change her jacket and the Chinese dude didnt speak English but he gave us a dirty look at us like he was saying fuck you.

two days later my mom got very sick and her body was aching and she couldn't get out of bed.

I probably already replied to this thread a long time ago, but I still concur that tourist from mainland China are the worse. My wife and I travel a lot and it has gotten progressively worse over the past decade...well at least pre-corona. Japanese tourist on the otherhand are the total opposite.

So over the course of the last 3 years I've been traveling a great deal. And on occasion on trip advisor and other travelling sites I will come across a pretty racist review about Chinese folk

"...the tour was great, but the Chinese tourists were so rude and every where ..."

I never thought anything of it and usually dismiss such observations because of my racial background.

Well...

Yesterday, I went on an all day kayaking excursion to many of the small islands on the outskirts of Phuket.

They split you up into two large boats/groups and it takes about about an hour to get to your destination ...

Prior to boarding us, our thai tour guide takes me and the better half to the side and says, "I'm sorry, but your trip is going to be very loud."

I'm thinking, no big deal, and thought he was referring to the engines.

He then says, "there are a lot of Chinese on your boat. They are very loud. And they have children...much much louder ."

I'm thinking to myself , how bad could it possibly be...

Well, it was terrible ...the children were way out of control screaming running around the boat the entire time...
And when it came time for the buffet , they loaded entire plate fulls of certain items rather than taking modest portions .

On the 2nd part of the tour, a different thai guide informed me (and this is all unsolicited info) that all of the guides try to claim or volunteer to be guides for americans, aussies, Japanese, Koreans, Russians etc...
He said that the guides take turns in selecting chinese...or draw straws.

Do you have bad experiences with Chinese tourists? Did I just have bad luck?

It's the same here in Hawaii and on the mainland. Not he best travelers.

Back up and in this thread. Few months back before Corona was eating lunch with my gf at a local restaurant. Chinese tourist family sits at the table next to us. Obviously loud and obnoxious but then in the middle of eating the grandpa hocks up a huge loogie and spits it on the floor between the tables. The rest of the family goes on eating like nothing happened. Few minutes later grandpa lights up a cigarette then continues hocking up black lung loogies and spitting them on the floor. Fucking disgusting.

I was shocked the first time I seen Chinese spitting, it was years ago in my teens riding the bus in the bay area old chinese spitting INSIDE the bus it was disgusting

then when I started working at a casino Id see them spitting on the carpet disgusting phlegm just hocking them on the floor while gambling and then smoking.

When I was visiting Siem Reap Cambodia , I got to chatting with our tour-guide who also was the driver. He was with us for a few days so we got pretty comfortable talking with him about life and stuff.

There were a lot tourists from Germany, Netherlands, Russia, America, Japan, Korea, Britain, India, France and other countries. I asked the tour-guide how the tourists were and what the locals thought of them. He said he did not like Chinese tourists and no one else did either. He had nothing bad to say of other other nationalities. He said the Chinese were loud, obnoxious, rude, inconsiderate and looked down on Cambodians. His criticism was aimed at mainland Chinese, not Taiwanese or Singaporeans.

The Cambodian tour guide thought they were rude and looked down on Cambodians because China has become rich and developed.

When I was at the airport the Chinese tourists were in groups. They were loud, and being that they were in groups they tended to block the path for people moving through. They did not make any attempt to move aside for people.

Lol dude. I lived in the MidEast, so I know where you are coming from . I have Lebanese friends and interacted with many in school and outside.
Lebanese are very image obsessed. They really like hair gel , designer clothes and cars that shout out you are a baller (late model BMWs). The women tend to be fashionistas.
