He said China should take the lead in shaping the “new world order” and safeguarding international security, one of the latest moves putting him in stark contrast to Donald Trump and the US president’s “America First” policy.

"We should guide the international community to jointly build a more just and reasonable new world order."

Xi had on numerous occasions called for China to play an important part in building the new world order. But during a Feb. 17 national security seminar in Beijing, he indicated China should “guide” the international community in the effort.

China can't even take care of its own people. Also pollution and having disputes with nearly every country it touches, or every claimed body of water.

I like the occasional beef chow mein, but cmon now.

On a plus note does that mean I can shit on the street now? Oh wait that's already in those Hillary sanctuary states.

China can't even guide North Korea properly, the rest of the world certainly isn't interested.

Possible. They have 5 times the population of the US and a booming economy.

America is now Axis of Evil with Russia, so China has a chance to fight for The Good. Depends on how they play their cards.

It's weird how the idea of a world working together can be tagged by some old WCW merchandise and suddenly not be everything we teach our kids to work towards....

Lol! China can't even bomb 8 countries simultaneously while supporting terrorists and terrorists supporting countries while leaving multiple failed states and giant refugee crisis in their wake! How can they safeguard international security?

lmfao @ China fighting for the good. Ignoring the FACT that superpowers never fight for the good but for their own benefit, what makes you think an authoritarian state like China is capable of good?

You're being sarcastic but only a great power could even attempt that. I agree.

China isn't threatened by North Korea, what are you talking about?

Russia sent 10 billion to North Korea.

Translation:

'We treat our own people like shit, now we want to do the same thing to the rest of the world.'

Countries pivot.

US used to be good and guided by Values ("truth, justice, the American way" and all that...., it wasn't always successful, but it had defining principles and people gave their lives for those values), but now it turns towards Russia and Evil Authoritarianism. This is a big opportunity for other nations to change as well.

whatever China wants, do the opposite, they're downright evil.

I don't know a single state you can assume is "for the good". But that's hardly the point. They will become a superpower in the next 10 years and hold that position for a good quarter- to half-century. However, their lack of fresh water compared to their citizens will force them into either warring or pulling back. And for them to war is against the betterment of each society in the region (including china). So even as a power they cannot subsist for long without major unforeseeable shifts and innovation of society.
