Chinese authorities have banned women in Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang

Well as long as it done for the greater good who cares if they violate the rights and freedom of expression for a whole segment of the population. Fuck it.

Being that I live here, ad know from experience.....That law will not be enforced like it sounds like.China like most communist countries try to make people turn on, or forget religion. Like, shit forgot the word for the people who go around "preaching the word" ...missionaries? Thats illegal here, cults are illegal, alot of religious stuff is technically "banned" here. But it's pretty much known that they won't enforce this too bad, if they do they will have more problems with Xinjiang, and they don't want more trouble with them

And one thing people need to know about China. Laws are not always enforced to seriously here. Its actually really nice to not have police officers up your ass for every little thing.

The Chinese are violating Uighurs and slowly genociding them BUT banning the Burqa is reasonable because it hide's one's face in public.

So you're okay with the government suppressing freedom of expression. Got it.

Full face covering can be a security risk.

Sure it can. It still doesn't justify abolishing or censoring an individual or group of individual's freedom of expression. I mean we're talking about rights here. You either believe individuals have them or you don't. You seem to be confused.

Freedom of expression shouldnt apply to Islam

Calling it a genocide is a bit stretchy. What is going on is nothing like the Holocaust or what happened to the natives of Murica.

We are only talking full face covering here, don't make it sound like the person is being oppressed just because they can't cover their face. Now Uighurs are being oppressed for other proscriptions the Chinese have placed on Uighur culture, see news link in below post.

It is deliberate policy of wiping them out as a distinct people in their native lands, through slow motion forced assimilation and swamping the region with Han Chinese.

China also recently made it illegal for Muslim men in Xianjiang with beards to use public transport. China wants the Uighurs as an ethnic group to cease existing .

Nah, you're confused - you sound like the Joker. First you acknowledge the SECURITY RISK that burqas impose and you claim it "doesn't justify.." In life things aren't always black and white. This isn't one of those "either/or" thingies, you silly goose.

Not genocide, more like replacing them with Han people.

Acknowledges security risk. Cites freedom of expression. You're an idiot. What happens when hordes of burqa-donning broads Zerg rush public places and leave a bunch of unattended packages in shopping malls? Surveillance technologies are really going to come in handy when they're analyzing video of individuals walking around in bedsheets like its Halloween. Go interview some of the guys at VA hospitals and ask how many times they've been detonated and lost limbs by people they later couldn't identify because they still subscribe to ancient desert scribbles. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. If they can learn to behave then maybe they can one day have their blankets back.

Whether you're talking full face, half face, or w.e, you're still suppressing that groups freedom to express themselves. I don't know why you can't just admit that. You're not the first in the WR to hold this haphazard view of rights.
