I actually disagree.
Nearly all of my confidence comes from video games. The idea that you can fail, grind to get better, and then rematch the failed mission taught me the invaluable lesson of learning via failure and that failure is a natural part of learning. I then extended this lesson to sports and other aspects of life.
On top of that, actually creating things like TikToks is a great stepping stone for being able to create other things. If it wasn't for writing websites, I never would've written fiction or learned how to draw from fan artists. I know of video editors who got their start on Vine. I know of so many artists who got their start on Tumblr and DeviantArt.
Of course just mindlessly consuming content is dumb. But if you use the internet to learn, connect and then create, it's the greatest invention in all of human history. However, I share your concern because I am scared of my future kids just watching YouTube all day but learning nothing <45>
It really does come down to the personality and mindset of the person using the internet.
