Mynanmar now becoming chinese client state. Vietnam, laos, cambodia all still have there communist roots and vietnam is officially still communist.......

Russia also need china to counter US/NATO expansionist bullshit and Russia stands to benefit as it likely that China knows it cannot really control or own the former soviet sphere the way Russia can given Russia history with those countries in russian empire and the russian diaspora in kazakhstan, ukraine, belarus, etc and the natural pull armenia and some stan countries have to Russia. While china may one day include itself into some east asian wannabe EU thing.

The G7 to me presented a weak and split image with Italia and US both wanting Russia back and then canada crying and Trump leaving early. Though obvious US is the real dominant power that matters most in G7 my guess is Trump will fracture EU spirit and pull right wing EU countries to his side eventually if not already.

Good thread. Asia is definitely the place that is most worthy of analysis right now in terms of material resources and possibility of collective manufacturing output. If the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the Shanghai Cooperation work as intended, it would create the greatest human development (in terms of for the benefit of the most people) in the modern history of the region (and possibly the world). It's ambitious, but it looks promising.

The real proof of china domination is there domination and soon to be $1 trillion trade with ASEAN countries. ASEAN is 640 million strong, say they lose Indonesia which is 260 million which could happen since it Indonesia which most opposed and is most different from other countries with it islamic population. But even then ASEAN then down to 380 million strong with all other except brunei and malaysia already being chinese client states or soon be puppet states or will be.

Because now they know to never rely on only EU since it will for time being always be influenced by UK and USA who are the ones with biggest hard on for confront Russia. At least with the SCO and china it seems china wants them to expand the eurasian union to act as way to lock up and control the former soviet sphere, central asia, maybe Iran and transcontiental countries while china in the far east anchor and eventually absorbs south east asia. China's economy is first-and-foremost based on overbuilding, subsidization, product dumping, intellectual property theft and lack of reciprocity. They're following a growth model similar to the one Japan was riding exceptionally high on throughout the 1980s which didn't turn out so well, but they're also far from stupid and looking to implement the necessary reforms and slow down the growth, which is going to be a little painful and why Xi is now Emperor-level powerful.

They have made mindblowing strides at all levels of science and technology (fundamental, applied, development) but they can't legitimately become a true tech superpower without raising their own domestic semiconductor industry - possibly the most complex devices ever developed - and as it is now they have less than 5% of the global market share. It's particularly difficult for them because America keeps its R&D and the majority of its fabrication manufacturing based in the US, and doubly so with Trump constantly blocking their attempted acquisitions of American tech firms.

Everyone screams about a trade war. When the alternative to a trade war is China surpassing us in gdp in the very near future. Of course an arms race would follow and god forbid war.


We are at the tail end of our reign and if there was an all out trade war we would win. The same thing may not be true in 5-10 years. Now is the time, while we have a fleeting leverage, to take on China economically.
