The general consensus here is that "oh China bad, China evil, China faking all their numbers".

Do I believe all of China's covid numbers?

I'd say their early figures are definitely under-reported, especially during the Jan-Mar period, which is why they made sudden upward adjustments to their death rate when funeral parlours exposed that they handled more deaths than what was reported. And of course there's no denying they tried to hide the virus before January.

But when they did decide to take action, they were fast and efficient, albeit sometimes brutal. Entire cities were locked down. Military deployed. Hospitals popped-up in a span of weeks. Fleets of trucks disinfecting entire cities and towns.

I know these aren't propaganda bullshit because I have tonnes of business contacts and friends, both foreign and local, still stuck in China from Jan-May period, and whoever I asked pretty much concurs that this is what's happening.

The fact is, China ended their lockdown in March, and people have been pretty much going about maskless since May because it's all under control. Their economy is the only one growing while the rest of the world is still struggling. I absolutely do not doubt this nor their current covid numbers.

I hate China too which is why I quit the company that sent me there, but I don't let that cloud my judgement. Most sherdoggers here are just blinded by their hate for China and unwilling to accept the fact that their most hated nation is doing so well while their own country is fucking it up.

Having lived there, I've seen first hand how much information is withheld from their very own citizens. Some topics are just alien to Chinese locals - one example, serial killers. I raised the topic with a couple of locals I worked with and was simply told that "they're a western problem, we dont have them here". I then went on to namedrop 2-3 of them, blank expressions. They'd never been made aware of serial murder within China.

If they can keep their citizens so ignorant to certain things, keeping certain things from other countries wouldn't be an problem at all.

And how much do you know about what the Chinese think of America? The fact is you don't. You HOPE that they hate you more than you hate them, because maybe then you'd feel that your hatred towards them is justified and you'd feel less angry and bitter.

Also there are a couple of reasons to not like them beyond that.

First off let's be real here, there is a 0% chance that Covid isn't a thing in China anymore. You are telling me that in ground zero where all this started in December and by the following March-May it was a done deal? Right. If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you.

And you pretty much proved my point. You have no idea what's the covid situation in China now and you're just passing off what you hope to be true as facts. Just because you keep repeating your opinion with confidence and gusto doesn't magically make it a fact.

I've never said covid isn't a thing in China anymore, nor is it a done deal. I'm just saying they have it under control, and by "under control", I mean the community spread is largely confined to very few and small clusters in a country with over a billion people, and when new clusters are found, the CCP everyone hates so much are able to react much more quickly and efficiently to contain further spread than the Trump government you love so much.

Also while they were locking down domestic travel they decided to allow international travel effectively exporting the virus around the world. China should absolutely be held accountable for this virus. They appearently got their country in order at the expense of everyone else. They were reckless as fuck and we aren't even able to investigate the origins of this virus. The CCP is not a freind to the international community.

Surprise surprise. I agree with you. The virus came from them and the world deserves an answer. But just because they want to hide the truth of the origin of the covid from the world, doesn't mean they aren't doing something about it in their own country.

China didn't become the world's fastest growing economy by constantly abusing their own people. As unscrupulous as the CCP are, they are also efficient as fuck. The virus is wrecking havoc in the US. If you think China isn't going to try to use this opportunity to try to overtake the US without first controlling their own covid situation, then I've got a rainbow bridge to Valhalla to sell you. Majority of world would not even know there is a virus if not for the the fear mongering. Other then fat ass pill popping America most nations have no excess yearly deaths. No matter what lockdown measures they took. Same expected yearly death count.

i think in utah we would know seeing as how all our hospitals are packed with covid patients and a city wide state of emergency has just been declared for fear of being unable to treat everyone. also non emergency surgeries are canceled to save personnel.
