China COVID Cover-Up Megathread

Never trust a "communist" government is a good rule of thumb. Well, more like a scientific fact.

Obviously not but the only thing that matters is how your own country is handling the virus. I don’t know about you but if I get sick, I’m going to a hospital in my own country, not Greece or China. How our doctors are treating patients is going to determine if I recover or don’t. If 5000 people from China or Greece die or 5 million, it makes no difference to me.

Not even the Chinese believe China's numbers. Also they do have success in fighting the epidemic, but it's because they have an extremely harsh control over their citizens. People in the West whine because of mandatory masks in public and half-arsed lockdowns, but it's nothing compared to the severity of the quarantines and controls they have. I have an ex who worked in China at the earliest time of the epidemic, and she described police checkpoints everywhere where they test everybody's temperature, you can't even walk to the next neighbourhood if you have any sign of fever.

You gotta ask China's shills such as @Sketch and @Scheme if you wanna know the truth. One of the above is Canadian who voted for Trudeau so you can count on him for giving an accurate pointers about China.

They are still locking down certain cities, I know Dalian was recently hit by the virus. I think the number is definitely higher than they're saying but I wouldn't go as far to say they've reached American level of deaths simply because their one party government is quicker to force a hard lockdown, and of course they don't have a choice in the matter. But of course there's also that fact that Asian countries are collective so they tend to not ask questions about wearing a mask like we westerners do. Guangdong never really hit much though because my family there was pretty much back to normal two months after the Wuhan breakout.

Does anyone have any idea what the real number may be?

Greece and Guatemala (tiny countries with small populations) are claiming more than 5000 deaths. yet China with 1,400,000,000 people is claiming LESS than 5,000 deaths.

The initial numbers from January to March are definitely too low, but by April, China had it beat through strict lockdowns that the citizenry was willing to comply with to beat the virus together. Combine that with a crazy high level of contact tracing, testing, and quarantining during any subsequent local outbreaks.

I live in China, and my city currently has a small outbreak. Everyone wears masks and practices preventive measures like distancing and hand washing, and schools have closed, but everything else is normal. The city government has placed the outbreak area on lockdown. The city has also conducted three city-wide coronavirus tests over the last two weeks. I'm talking over six million tests times three. Maybe twenty million total. The city government also sends out updates twice a day, including info about any new positive cases, including information about where they had gone prior to diagnosis.

My point is, it can be beaten if there is sufficient will and compliance.

Fuck you talking about? I don't shill for China.

Obviously, i do think the numbers in Taiwan and HK are accurate though.

Nobody ever stopped to think that this is a nation who has used shithole wet markets and obscure animal keeping practices for millenia? That capturing exotics and housing with other exotics from all over is not a new thing to this region of the world? That their exposure to viruses, and likely coronaviruses, may be magnitudes greater than most of the rest of the world?

These people could biologically be two or three up on the rest of us when it comes to immunity to many pathogens as a result of their cultural history.

It would actually be in China's best interest to inflate numbers (if these low numbers are factual), in an attempt to blend in with the rest of the problem.

So what do you think the death toll is?

China stopped getting infections around May 2020...They also fly in the air fighting with swords and deflect spears back to their enemies...

I'm super excited that we are going to rush back into the WHO organization which will absolutely hold China accountable for their information and detailing of this pandemic.

SUPER EXCITED!

I don't know. Things looked pretty grim in Hubei province those two months. The real number must be much higher, but I trust the numbers for the period of time since the initial outbreak was defeated.

So under 5000 total deaths?

<Dany07>

Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan had all done a better job than China if you look at cases/deaths in proportion to their population.

What? I just said the numbers must have been higher during the initial outbreak, as in Wuhan and surrounding cities. In terms of the numbers since May, I believe those statistics. China has largely been free of coronavirus.

I’m American and I did not vote for Trudeau.
