There's a spectrum when it comes to food poisoning. It can range anywhere from so mild you don't know you have it, to deadly. Food poisoning can be extemely serious.

One of the biggest killers world wide if you count in the third world where there can be limited/no access to clean water.

So food poisoning almost 2 weeks before a fight makes it "impossible" even if it may have only lasted a day or two? Without knowing more details, it's impossible to know if it's a valid excuse. Usman flew halfway around the world with like a week's notice to fight Khamzat last time. Is it really worse than that considering Khamzat has had a full camp, plenty of time to acclimate to the area, etc?

Everyone realizes he could have been seriously ill, but Khamzat long ago burnt up all the forgiveness that was available due to his constant problems with health, kadryov, travel, etc. Thems the breaks.

Somebody like Dan Henderson says he can't fight and you instantly know he must have lost a limb, but plans on re-growing it in a week or two.
