So the thing is that I'm not desperate. I'm happy with the small progress toward the left that we've seen recently, with the exceptions of the recent campus movements toward segregation, and being a little too permissive with certain sects of Islam. I think America is the best it has been in my adult lifetime by almost every measure. The destructive attitudes on the right are being marginalized and their proponents are having to rethink everything right now. That's for the best. There is a desperation in America right now, but it's not coming from me.

Some leftists are overreacting while generally moving in the right direction. This is nothing. This is not widespread civil unrest. You were born before the Watts riots I assume?
