Chechen fans watching UFC

Khabib attends Fight Nights Global (EFN) events which is owned by the same businessman who kickstarted the Eagles MMA gym, and the if he's in Chechnya its to corner/support an athlete competing there at the WCFA (Akhmat MMA). Either way, it means jack shit for those of us who care about MMA and not the bullshit politics.
How many Akhmat events you watched in 2016 and 2017? I've seen Khabib there in some VIP lounge with Kadyrov. I've seen him cornering guys in EFN and I think one time he filmed a short message to them. And to be honest I can't remember at which event and whom Khabib cornered in Akhmat. Can you remember or remind me?

I guess only Khabib and Kadyrov know how much of their public buddy-buddy image is business and how much is pleasure, but Kadyrov is very rich and very dangerous so as much as I think he's a POS, I try to keep that in mind when I see Caucasian fighters kissing his ass. They have to be cognizant of who he is and adjust their behavior around him accordingly. He seems too capricious and petty to want to get on his bad side.
Well I can't remember Taisumov kissing Kadyrov's ass or screaming АХМАТ СИЛА but from what I can remember his family is kinda wealthy - he said that during a war they send him for a year to study to South Africa. Adam Khaliev and I think Amagov wasn't kissing Kadyrov's butt. Maybe they said something positive but someone like Grishin or Malyutin (mma fighters) lick Kadyrov's butt 10 times more.

its coming out of here:

Russia's internet trolling headquarters, masterfully crafting the narrative on social media in service of Putin.
To see the lengths they go, read this

and then peruse the War Room to see how well they've suckered Western marks.

Or, and this might sound crazy, they're completely autonomous and just have a different opinion than you do. But the Russian bogeyman makes for a better bedtime story.

Edit: Are the posters here 'marks' or are they bots/paid trolls? I'm sure this vast conspiracy must extend to Sherdog. In fact, I could be one of them. *gasp*

Well said and who even knows if anything they say about Chechnya is true kinda like Iraq WMDs. There is full scale disinformation campaigns with people we don't like and has been forever.

Anyway. Cool - they seem real supportive of their fighters.

You're blindly ignorant. But I'm sure you get by just fine with such bliss.

To be fair they were probably under armed watch.

Yeah sure, lets topple Kadyrov. It worked so well with Gaddafi and Saddam. Isn't that what they're trying in Syria as well? Make the evil warlords disappear because terrorists... the other guys are just democratic rebels. Then we can complain about why terrorism is expanding, not like you just toppled the guys keeping them in check.
Well if you wanna analogy, I think here is better one - Kadyrov in Russia it's like if teh president of USA said that Ben Laden is not terrorist and made him a governor of Louisiana. And his terrorists friends and relatives would become politicians in Louisiana and US.

They weren't remotely as big a name to be invited to sit next to Kadyrov for a photo-op or watch an event.

These are just people trying to live their lives, navigate it the best way they can. I know someone people want "change"...which 9 times out of 10 means civil-war, but most people involved try to avoid it.

Wow didn't I think they would be that keen on this fight =/ Respect

To further play devil's advocate (no pun intended): Couldn't Taisumov being both of a much lower profile and being physically removed from the Caucasus play a role? Khabib is the face of Russian (and Caucasian) MMA, he's also close by, two things Taisumov isn't (doesn't he live in Austria?). I mean, if some low-profile guy living far away snubs you, it's different than if the most prominent person in your field does the same. But I see your broader point; food for thought, there.

Kadyrov is the one keeping the militants in check. And yes, he's a former rebel himself, and decided its better to work with your neighbor than fight a civil-war where nobody wins. Putin feels the same way, that's why he's there (Kadyrov). They've seen both sides of the conflict, they're not on the comfort of the couch dreaming romantic about democracy and freedom for gays, and benevolent insurrections that doesn't lead to the deaths of thousands of people after the fact.

Taisumov is actually a Chechen and he was a champ in M-1. And if I'm not mistaken Khabib wasn't champ in M-1 or Profc or in any Russian mma org. And he is also not Chechen and not Ingush. It's like Putin taking photos and rooting for Emil Meek and not for Russian fighters.
Amagov was the famous Chechen/Russian in UFC for quite some time. But I think I've seen here someone mentioned that he said during the war that Russian soldiers were shooting in Chechen civilians just for fun. So average Chechen in Russia even if they seen or know stuff like that rarely talk about it (it's kinda taboo it seems). So he is like not an average Chechen and not in Chechen mainstream.

Yeah, but Taisumov mentioned that his parents lives in Chechnya and he spend sometime there it seems. So I think authority if they wanted would easily pressure him to do what they wants.

M-1 is a local org, and the UFC is global. Most of Amagov's career was in Strikeforce, and once again neither of them had the clout or fame that Khabib had.

Anyways, if you wanna hate on Kadyrov, go ahead. Just not make a circus out of it, where it kills the careers of these fighters. But it can't be helped i guess, everything is a war.

Soon you'll be complaining about Chechen and Caucasus refugees.... the region hasn't been more peaceful and secure as it is now since the rise of Stalin.

I see. Well, another good win for him today. If he ever gets his visa issue sorted out and his star rises, it's going to be interesting to see if he continues to be tight-lipped or if he'll "kiss the ring," so to speak.

never mind that formerly anti Russian conservatives in America began to transform 2 years ago, suddenly aligning with all of Putin's interests regarding all his global positions- Syria, Ukraine, Turkey, Brexit, Trump...going so far as to support the Iran-Iraq-Syria Pipeline. You yourself may have unwittingly shilled for Gazprom and not realized it was planted in your head from persusasive trolls and memes.

Sure, every major power is doing this now, but Russia seems to have the most effective "cyber corps" at the moment.

And some thinks that militants still alive because as long as they exist Kadyrov is in power. Maybe he decided that lots of money and being president is more fun than living in forests? Some Chechen politicians in exile even says that now they thinks that Kadyrovs is a FSB guys from day one and their goal was to discredit idea of Chechen independent state - like independent Chechen state would be a nationalist/Islamic shithole so the world should support idea that Chechnya should be part of Russia.
Btw I remember there were article with numbers - so now there happens more terroristic acts in months than under Yeltsin happened in some year/years. Doesn't look like Kadyrov and Putin are very much succesful in fighting terrorism.

I can't tell if you're being pro-Caucasus, or pro-West (anti-Russian). Because if its the former, I see no reason why you need to jeopardize the lives and careers of these fighters representing the region. Perhaps its the latter, and you're just now speaking of Caucasian independence simply as a tool/appeal-to-emotion to justify the anti-Russian stance.

Me personally, I'd like all peoples to be free if it be possible. I too would be critical of Kadyrov a decade ago if you asked my opinion. Then you realize, everything is just a pawn for destabilization. And that's the biggest threat in this world. Nobody cares about "freeing" anyone –they just end up dead. Then when you feel the fallout, the victims-who-need-our-help become the new enemy/nuisance.
