No there aren't. That's the number of houses minus the number of households. Half of them are retired snowbirds who split the year between 2 places, the others are for rent, for sale, or condemned.

There are over 15 million illegals here already, and another 800,000 homeless, and that would increase by orders of magnitude when every poor person in the world finds out all they have to do in sneak across the border to get a free house and free food. There are 3.5 billion people in the world living on less than $6.85/day. Why the hell would every single one of them not come here to collect a free house and food?

also 11-14 million illegals is the current estimate (8 million of which are in the labor force by the way, you know, because kids don't work), and i imagine that number has decreased a good bit since the ice raids, probably by a couple hundred-thousand. preliminary data also suggests so, per the DHS.

so yes. 800,000 homeless plus 14 million illegals, many of which are in the same household, would fit into 15 million vacant homes.

Anybody anywhere in the world who can scrape together a few hundred bucks for a plane ticket would obviously come here to collect a free house and free food on the US taxpayer, so where are the houses going to come from, and where is the hundred of trillions to buy or build a couple billion houses for them supposed to come from?
