Fair enough. I’m the one that suggested metal detectors in the first place and I see it had been studied, but I can’t access the article.I’ll make a deal. You link a study that’s on topic in your next rebuttal to me and I’ll link you the studies.
I don’t do shit for that turd anymore.
ERIC - ED595716 - Are Metal Detectors Effective at Making Schools Safer?, WestEd, 2019
With the tragedies of school violence igniting calls for increased safety and security, one popular proposal is to use metal detectors in schools. To address questions about what impact such devices may have on day-to-day safety and on what happens during school violence events, this research...
I might trust this article more that concludes “there isn’t sufficient data to determine they make schools safer” as this one is closer to a meta analysis.
I can’t even tell what the first one is. I’m not sure if that means more research meeds to be done or if the data just doesn’t show a positive effect. I’m working and don’t really have the desire to analyze the data from all the studies analyzed.
They do cite adverse effects on students. If they are shown to make schools safer, I’d think that’s a small price to pay. Not really sure how you’d study that though. I’d have to get into the methods. I know there haven’t been any shootings or stabbing at Albany High over here. Those detectors have been there well over ten years.
