Social Charlie Kirk Shot and Killed

I know there is zero chance that the people who need to read this are going to read it, but I'll just leave this here.

well, a lot of these guys are white nationalists, so I doubt they care. They'll read something like that and go "you know, I guess I am, so what".

when you go into stopping the "great replacement strategy", you are a white nationalist org.
I've heard him talk about Democrats wanting to flood America with illegals to disrupt voting demographics. But if he was such a huge racist, why would he welcome minorities into TPUSA? Why would he host a Young Black Leaders Summit and bring hundreds of black kids to the White House?

Plausible deniability

He weighed in on UK muslims, american muslims, immigrants, etc with it. Using the "Great Replacment Theory" explicitly as a term is old school white nationalism that has a deep history ("white genocide"). He's done it on facebook posts, on his show, over and over. Look up the term and its history. More than a dog whistle. Tucker does it too. They are just trying to mainstream it and create a permission structure. Adopting it was also helpful for him to keep the Groypers from fracturing TPUSA's base when they were having the "Great Groyper War" and hounding him at events.

As for the "one of the good ones" strategy, tokens have been spent in white nationalism for a while. They allow for the user to mainstream racist ideas, provide cover, and utilise them as shields through sock puppeting. He also used it as a strategic tool at an attempt to fracture the DNC voting block to favour the RNC.

To what extent any of these influencers personally practice racism or believe it doesn't really matter, it's what they do with their platforms. There is a lot of populist energy in America and abroad due to economic anxiety and income inequality. But rather than galvanise people around class warfare to get more social programs like healthcare, Kirk chose billionaires and took their money and doubled down on capitalism as is. Billionaires will back white nationalist projects like TPUSA because it keeps the heat off of them, redirects that anger towards immigrants and 'welfare queens' and advances their tax and deregulation platform. The same reason these tech billionaires (who previously supported the DNC) love Trump right now - to get AI deregulation, shut down things like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and get a big beautiful tax break.

Whether Charlie was a true racist or not in his personal life, doesn't matter, he deliberately and explicitly trafficked in it and got paid millions to do it. It was a tool he weaponised for his project because it worked and benefited his backers. People like Tatum and Owens were useful in accomplishing that.

I appreciate your rational answer, but I'm not seeing what you're seeing here. Kirk actively tried to get American youth involved in the voting process, regardless of race. He spoke out against illegal immigrants being allowed to vote and was correct to do so. He believed there was an effort by Democrats to shift voter demographics via allowing in illegal immigrants and battled against it. Just calling him racist for this just doesn't really jive with many of his other messages. He spoke out, numerous times, about how the government pushed black people into poverty through incentivizing single parenthood. Here he is speaking about it if you care to watch. Only a minute long.

He may or may not have actually believed that bullshit, but he certainly wanted YOU to believe it.

What TPUSA does with this stuff is somewhat slick. There is truth in that the economic nudging used in things like SSDI, rent assistance, and TANF can cause unintended consequences based on how you do the means testing for eligibilty. People will avoid getting married or potentially living together to maximise their welfare benefits in some cases. And there are quite a few black people on welfare.

What he leaves out is that the New Deal already provided welfare to single mothers (especially widows of WW2) - he noted in 1960s was around 21% single mothers (so welfare doesn't inherently split up families). In the 1960s the Great Society program by LBJ was a change to the means testing and the targets of the welfare. This applies to every race, not just black people btw. In part this is a play to those that believe the "CIA engineered the crack epidemic to destroy the black community" or that liberals hate the nuclear family and Christians. And it serves to say 'don't trust ANY welfare, it's how they keep you enslaved, bootstrap it instead'. That to support public welfare and the DNC is a poisoned chalice. He doesn't give a shit about single black mothers, he hates public welfare, as do his billionare backers.

A better argument would be we need to make sure that the defnitions and means testing needs to not have downstream unintended consequnces, whether it is welfare or tax credits, not that we should cut off food stamps to children to create self-reliance. It's like these people going around now saying that Jim Crow was good because it kept the black family together or the benevolence of the slavers in the Antebellum South. Fucking manipulative bullshit.

The crazier she gets, the more her viewership goes up.

It's mind-boggling.

What she's doing is no different than what MAGA content creators have being doing for years, it's just that instead of targeting people like Macron or Walz she's targeting fellow right wing populists.

But the way that Owen's sounds to MAGA now is more or less how most of MAGA comes off to non-MAGA folks. Owen's is uniquely crazy but she's no more than one or two shades of crazy beyond the average MAGA influencer.

ie Musk and company are pyschopaths and have lost touch with humanity in their search of "transhumanism" goals and reliance on data gathering, social media, and algorithms to socially engineer society. Elon Musks Neuralink falls within this transhumanism thinking, or Zuckerberg's Metaverse virtual reality plans, Thiels support of Curtis Yarvin's CEO Monarch theory. Steve Bannon has been hating on this transhumanist tech lord stuff as well, not just Candace Owens. Look up some of that Curtis Yarvin theory about ending government, having CEO monarchs and making all of us "hobbits" in service of corporate machinery and working under corporate feifdoms. These people are fucked in the head and watched too much BladeRunner or played CyberPunk 2020 and thought "that's what I want". I'm with Candace's crazy ass on that one.

I never followed Candace Owen's but now every time her name comes up she seems absolutely insane. Its like she cant have a normal take on anything. Pretty soon shes gonna be talking about Liberal Lizard People among us.
Oh, she's already gone there. She accused Elon and Thiel iirc.
