Chappelle's Show is not funny

Some of the sketches don't hold up because they relied on shock value.

But he still had some of the best / funniest sketches of all time and those still hold up.

Chappel's early pre-okra-threat skits, cracky Tyrone, black kay k kay dude, among SO many others, were Golden Cutting Edge AF displays of 5-Star non PC humor.

In Living Color's Homey the Clown, Men On Films,Art, etc. were sharing in that same awesome and fearless genre.

Cheers to those brave brothers and their talented writers, the only ones with enough balls to enter, and dominate, the non-woke realities that hollie wud, diz knee and the MSM currently force on their intentionally neutered public whose thoughts they embedded to create hate and division for their control and profits.

I've only recently discovered Dave Chappelle in the past few years thanks to his excellent Netflix specials. I can't think of anyone whose delivery is as good as his and his way of telling a story and mixing opinion with comedy is unmatched.

So I went back to watch his old Comedy Central show. It is not funny. Like. Barely a chuckle not funny. Like, this is painfully stupid not funny. Perhaps it was hilarious when it was cutting-edge 20 years ago, but...

I do remember the Wayne Brady skit being hilarious, but about 9 eps into the first season and I'm quite disappointed.

I welcome your derision and I hope not to be banned.

TLDR: Cheers to Chappelle's stand-up. Jeers to his Comedy Central show.
I inherited that show on DVD when my dad passed in 2018. I thought it was mostly hilarious and a some of the jokes seemed relevant 15 years later. A lot of talented musicians were also featured on the show.

His show was amazing! His new stand up is too preachy for me. Though his standup on the alphabet people was hilarious

Oh and Juicy smooyay

Sketch comedy is the toughest to do. Some stuff falls flat but the hits were really hits. Charlie Murphy on Prince, and Rick James were fucking incredible. The Real World, Clayton Bigsby, Racial Draft, Wayne Brady, Players Ball, all still really funny.

Dave did something no one else has the balls to do in the last few years. He made fun of the rainbow brigade. The most sensitive group on the planet. And he is still standing, so I give him credit. You can only ignore absurdities so long before someone has to say something....and might as well do it with comedy.

Yeah "dated" is the best way to describe Chappelle. I can see why he got the praise he got when he got it. But today with meme culture hes very ordinary.

Could argue he was the best stand up comedian like the kind who perform at a comedy club but that's like the laugh track sitcom at this point. He can't compete with comedians who know meme culture.
Can you show me an example of a good meme comedian?

the chapelle show is one of the funniest tv shows of all time. if you dont think that shit is funny youre prolly an unfunny bum and someone i would defintely not want to hang around with.
the show has an insane amount of memorable quotable sketches....
BOOO THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chappelle is the Michael Jordan of comedy, put some respect on his name!

The writing on the show was better than Daves acting.
Still, was good for its time.
I think if the show went on longer it would have improved on alot of things.
As good as it was some things could definitely have been done better but the show was only 2 seasons in, with a handful of skits done for the 3rd.
Was great to watch when you're high though.
