It’s not. It all comes down to a ratings/what the product is worth. There is a reason a pro hopscotch players don’t make as much as NFL players or why wnba players make less than nba players or why the top boxer makes more than the top mma fighter. What ever happened to the concept of one product being more coveted than another, thus warranting higher pay?

The people at the conference table deciding how to divy up who gets how much cash for their projects decided the mma thing was one of their lower tier offerings and thus this is what you deserve. I think it's stupid to compare the UFC to major league sports because they are unionized and UFC fighters aren't. Of course you're going to have significantly less bargaining power as individual contracts compared with unions. I think really what's worse than fighter pay strictly by the numbers is their terrible contracts and the lack of rights they have in those contracts.

Like I think there's this illusion that the NFL or NHL or NBA owners are more "generous", they're not more generous. This is business, and they have to deal with Unions, and Dana doesn't. So Dana will do what every one of the owners of organizations in those leagues will do until someone gives him a good reason not to.

Exactly the point. The investment is flopping. Anytime somebody tries to be more generous than the ufc they always end up with investors who look a loss. Bellalor is bleeding money. The ratings are pretty trash.

Everywhere you turn there’s speculation of just how long bellator can keep losing money till they plug gets pulled… but keep in mind Viacom is willing to lose millions more for Star Trek discovery season 4.

Sounds like you answered your question yourself. You said “I don’t see many.” So you just admitted they exist. They either exist or they don’t and you know darn well it’s quite a bit more than just “not many people.”
I also said I think ufc pay share could use a solid bump by about 10 percent. 50 or more sounds like a dangerous proposition and it’s not lookin good for skellator right now. athletes deserve the most if you can show some spreadsheets saying the investment is paying off for the people who fronted the money.

Fighters receive only a small percentage of the total. It’s ridiculous and holding the sport back.

In that case the fighters shouldn't be so stupid and sign these contracts. The UFC isn't the only one making up these contracts. All of them use the same method.

My employer makes millions of dollars profit and I only get a small percentage of it. The other choice is to change careers or find someone else to pay more money.

Again I think you ignore the biggest issue here, its not just about "fighters deserve more" but rather than "we the consumer deserve more". The UFC's lack of investment in talent means that the product we buy is significantly worse than it could be, typical of why a near monopoly is almost always a bad thing for the consumer as well as the employee.

The idea "you get what you deserve" goes both ways, if the UFC pays peanuts its going to attract a lower standard of fighter, if it payds more, espeically if it pays more earlier then its going to attract more talent.
