Lol at this whitebelt marksomeone please tell kale this is n ot fake wrestling
Well said. As noted, those of us on these forums are the hardcore fans who know alot of all this stuff, who follow most of the fighters and follow the sport closely. But the majority of the fans are casual fans who don't come on here, who only watch when the PPV is on or if they are told/hyped by others to watch it. So for Joe to tell the PPV audience, who may or may not buy the next one, that it's all a show is really stupid.Chael is 100% right. And the people who don't get it are the people who think they're enlightened when they constantly point out that pro wrestling is fake. Basically as dumb as people who really think it's real imo.
Obviously we all know it's an act. But so was Muhammad Ali hating Joe Frazier. And while Howard Cosell might bust Ali's balls about his act, he's not gonna turn to the camera and go "You know this is all for show, right folks? These 2 don't even know each other, and they'd probably be friends if they did..."
There are tens of thousands of people sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings type places watching, thinking "maybe I'll have people over for the next one, and just buy it home. Maybe I'll do it when this Colby guy fights to unify the belts." Rogan completely forgot his place, and spoke directly to the casuals as if he was on a Sherdog Q&A.
So you believe there's no difference in speaking to hardcores on an mma podcast and speaking to casuals on a ppv, and what information those different audiences should be presented from a promotional standpoint?
