cereal gane lacks killer instinct

Why would he needs to change camp ?
It's a great camp who produce Francis, the HW champ. They have perfect gameplan and great coaches. They bring Tomas Mozny 6"7 Glory kickboxer and French Olympic 6"7 boxer to prepare for Volkov. He is fine. If itns not broken dont fix it

Frank is going to stalk this man and turn his consciousness off.

This was a more impressive performance than that jairzhino crap but im not convinced that he can take out big frank or even old man stipe.

It feels like hes missing something and he should consider a camp change so that he can grow more instead of being in a comfort zone. I'd like to see him utilize his very impressive karate for more finishes. Eventually someone is going to just blitz him and take him out with his current style.

Karate....

Muay Thai and Cyril Gane ...look into it

I posted this in 2021… it’s do or die now

Yeah I'm confused by Jones being so heavily favoured in this fight, but somebody on here said the other day that Gane could just spar his way to a decision loss & I think that they, and you, could be on to something.

It may all be lip service, but Lopez said that they started laying the groundwork with the Tuivasa bout and continued with this camp in remedying this perceived issue. Supposedly a big part of this camp in particular was dedicated to unlocking Gane's aggression and "inner monster" or some such shit. Basically encouraging him to be less of an athlete and more of a fighter, getting him to go forward and hurt the other guy.

Yeah Ok.. if you don’t got it you don’t got it

I don't think that's true on its face. It's a skill or competitive mindset that can be developed like any other. Besides, I think this has always been an overrated narrative to begin with. There are plenty of fights where he showed what I would call "killer instinct".

Idk my dude. i agree with the gist but something is lacking imo

I used think that then I saw that brutal cheating back of the head strike on Tai and was like OK no more Mr Nice guy. I hated it and thought it tainted an otherwise beautiful performance but it’s clear that in that moment he saw red and went nasty, there may be times in a fight when he will need it, though hopefully within the rules.

I disagree as someone who used to hold the same view as you do. His Rozenstruik performance which he admitted to was lacking, yes. That was one notable blip that's IMO counteracted by things like how he dismantled and finished Lewis and Bam Bam. Hell, even in his early career you can see him choosing to take down and submit Mayes in the final seconds of the third round rather than coasting to an easy, dominant Decision win. Some of his GnP sequences on the regional scene were pretty nasty, too.
