Crime CBS News Fired Catherine Herridge and Seized All Her Files - She Got Too Close to the Bidens and Exposing the Chinese

There's a real story, just has no connection to "the Bidens." Herridge wrote about a probe into a Chinese American scientist who operated a graduate program in Virginia. The scientist is suing the FBI, and the judge wants to know where Herridge got her info (to find out of the allegations by the scientist have merit). It's an important story, but Whippy's take on it is typically insane and not based on any evidence.

Holy shit you weirdos have pet names for each other?!

That’s too many feelings.

Just imagine if they could do this is what they would do in countries where they prop the candidate with money and media

Call it a conspiracy theory, but this reporter was hot on this story and it's extremely suspect that she's getting this treatment from CBS.

But with Biden's DOJ, it's definitely not surprising that CBS could be taking directives from the Biden Admin. And lord help CBS and the Biden Admin if its proven that that was indeed the case. It would be an Authoritarian Act far surpassing anything Trump has been accused of.

The timing of Herridge’s termination immediately raised suspicions in Washington. She was pursuing stories that were unwelcomed by the Biden White House and many Democratic powerhouses, including the Hur report on Joe Biden’s diminished mental capacity, the Biden corruption scandal and the Hunter Biden laptop. She continued to pursue these stories despite reports of pushback from CBS executives, including CBS News President Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews.

Given the other layoffs and declining revenues, the inclusion of Herridge was defended by the network as a painful but necessary measure. But then something strange happened. The network grabbed Herridge’s notes and files and informed her that it would decide what, if anything, would be turned over to her. The files likely contain confidential material from both her stints at Fox and CBS.

For many of us who have worked in the media for decades, this action is nothing short of shocking. Journalists are generally allowed to leave with their files. Under the standard contract, including the one at CBS, journalists agree that they will make files available to the network if needed in future litigation. That presupposes that they will retain control of their files. Such files are crucial for reporters, who use past contacts and work in pursuing new stories with other outlets or who cap their careers with personal memoirs.

The heavy-handed approach to the files left many wondering if it was the result of the past reported tension over stories.

Regardless of motive, the company is dead wrong.

These files may contain sources who were given confidentiality by Herridge. The company is suggesting that the privilege of confidentiality (and the material) rest ultimately with CBS. As a threshold matter, that cannot be the case with regard to files that were generated during Herridge’s long stint with Fox News. Yet CBS appears to be retaining those files, too.

When sources accept confidentiality assurances, it is an understanding that rests with the reporter. It is a matter of trust that can take a long time to establish on a personal level between a reporter and a source.

It is certainly understood that the network stands behind that pledge. However, most sources understand that their identity and information will be kept protected by the reporter and only disclosed to a select group of editors or colleagues when necessary. It is the reporter who implicitly promises to go to jail to protect confidentiality — and many have done so. Such agreements are less likely to occur if sources are told that any number of unnamed individuals, including non-journalists, could have access or custody of these files.

When “Deep Throat” agreed to disclose his identity to Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, he was assured that they would protect it until his death. He would not have been so inclined if he had been told that this was a type of privilege by committee with potential disclosures to corporate, legal and HR personnel. Reporters like Herridge have long served as the primary defenders of privileged sources. Indeed, Herridge is still in court defending confidentiality over a series of stories at Fox News in 2017, even at the risk of being held in contempt.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how this plays out.

Guess having the cornerstone of your entire Hunter Biden impeachment plan indicted for inventing MAGA masturbation fodder and for lying to the FBI wasn't enough embarrassment for you guys. Let's see how this embarrassment in waiting plays out...

Just say you're not for a "Free Press" and move on. You don't have to expose yourself as a complete Left Cult nutter. Of course, there is a ton more evidence besides one operative that was a Wray favorite. You just are immune to information that casts your senile God in a bad light. We get it.

You beat me to it, but I'm glad you did. I had a few of those tweets loaded and was going to drop them on the Left Cult types that were claiming she had nothing on the Bidens. I was waiting, but your post is superior than what I would have produced.

Well done.

Sooooo.... nothing on topic, just trolling. Meh... that's seems about right from you.
I was trying to help you out by bumping the thread because it wasn't getting much traction. Also, my post really could have been a copy/paste of many of your posts so it's fucked up that you call it trolling.

What kind of shield law do you want to see federally?

What kind of shield law do you want to see federally?

We don't need one. We have the 1st Amendment. We just need for the Judiciary to slap down those that would attack journalists and their sources.

This doesn't make sense. The 1A doesn't say anything about confidential sources or subpoenaing them. Hence you need a shield law at the federal level if you want federal courts to not force reporters to name sources.

So you're not in favor of a federal shield law?

Didn't Branzburg play out quite a bit differently?

this is it.

You're wrong on this one. Conspiracy truth. Most cannot handle this, along with organ harvesting, child trafficking and other horrors that happen every day.
What if child organ harvesting is no where the issue it really is and is being used as a smoke screen to distract from states like Alabama allowing organ harvesting in their for profit prisons, where they send the dead back home completely hollowed out?
