That clip is from the 3rd fight. But Yes, edgar beat BJ was a big slope for BJ and Yes BJ won the first fight.

George was 7-0 in the UFC. Lost that fight, and then 4 more in a row and never won another fight

Kind of reminds me of James Vick. 9-1 in the UFC, then after Gaethje starched him he never won again, losing 5 in a row just like Sotiropolous.

Fighting well has alot to do with confidence. Confidence is huge in the fight game. Once you lose a fight that confidence is gone and/or is diminished greatly.
Losing fights makes a difference. It's seems as though your dismissing it as if it doesn't matter.
It's a combination of it all.

Great point, I’d add that this is one of the reasons why fantasy matchmaking across time is so difficult. You just can’t transplant a guys streak with him.

I really don’t think it was the Gsp fight that ruined him , his next 2 fights one in victory the other in defeat were both fight of the night .
It was his next fight against Woodley that he cleaned out his knee that I think starts his down slide

I think that Condit looked suspiciously out of it in the USADA era. Yes, he did start a bad streak a little before that but those were losses to GSP, Hendricks and a rising Woodley. After 2015 though, he struggled to beat any top 10 guy.
