Career derailment fights

Woodley still hasn’t recovered since Marty took his soul….now he can’t even beat part time youtubers that box as a hobby

I am sorry, but no. These were great champions that had accomplished much and were supremely confident, and mostly had come back from losses before. They were turning points for them. Now with Costa I agree, but he was very insecure unlike the rest, and a KO/sodomuy probably did ruin his confidence, but that is again because he was insecure to begin with- he was narcissist without REAL confidence.
Ever been in a cage fight?

Mayweather-McGregor.

Ferguson-Gaethje is not one because Tony was already in his late 30s when that fight took place.

Royce Gracie vs Art Jimmerson. I had high hopes for the 1 boxing glove approach, but alas, Royce derailed Jimmerson's promising career.

Disagree. He later moved to lightweight and was very successful.

I think that Condit looked suspiciously out of it in the USADA era. Yes, he did start a bad streak a little before that but those were losses to GSP, Hendricks and a rising Woodley. After 2015 though, he struggled to beat any top 10 guy.
Pretty sure he tore his knee up.

Two spring to mind, firstly

is pretty hard to beat. Secondly Velasquez - Bigfoot 2,

Bigfoot went into that fight 18-4 and since then has gone 1-11-1 in all competitions with 10 losses by (T)KO.

Good examples! Forgot about em both

Fighting well has alot to do with confidence. Confidence is huge in the fight game. Once you lose a fight that confidence is gone and/or is diminished greatly.
Losing fights makes a difference. It's seems as though your dismissing it as if it doesn't matter.
It's a combination of it all.

I 100% agree with this. It’s both the fighter’s confidence though and also how their aura affects the opponent. Obviously, these are not much of a factor with some fighters, but it’s a very real phenomenon.
