To be fair, that would be cool. But leave them out of Cp Marvel movie. We don't have to see every single Marvel superhero character in this movie just because they were alive at that point. Kree are fair game, bcs Cp Marvel relies heavily on the Kree tech, but Hawkeye, Pym and Tchakka? C'mon, that closing in on Suicide Squad level of characters.

Who said every single one? It's just three of them. And two of them can easily be put in with the known story parameters. Clint works for shield and if you have a superhero on your hands who would you want to talk to? The only other superhero you know and can maybe contact, Hank Pym. You gotta plant these seeds so when Captain Marvel comes back she can have connections to existing characters.

Based on having read Cap Marvel is supposed to be the strongest hero is MCU, I am positive Super Skrull is going to appear in this movie, if shess meant to already have fully come into her powers by movie end.

I honestly had no interest whatsoever in this movie, but I'm interested just because of the possible tie ins.

Edit: A celestial might be in this movie too.

Hey, whatever floats your boat, man. I'm thinking Fury, Ronan and Korath are sufficient for Earth/SHIELD and space MCU connections. GotG did far more with far less. But that's just me...

For Super Skrull to appear, F4 would need to be heavily tied in, and i'm not completely sure on the level of details the Fox-Disney arrangement is in. I highly doubt it happens, but i'd be thrilled if it does

It's not just connections like "hey, they all live in the same universe!" We know that already. It's for relationship development between characters. Hope Pym should be in the movie also. Child Hope can meet Captain Marvel.

See, if avengers 4 is in a year, when is this bitch supposed to come out and be as spectacular as wonder woman, being enough to want her in avengers 4?!

Captain Marvel is the next MCU movie after Ant Man and The Wasp. It comes out in March so, literally less than two months before The Avengers 4.

My assumption is that they have a lot of faith in it being a good movie and feel that it will even more get the hype to Avengers 4 to a fever pitch (if that's possible). It will also be the beneficiary of the Avengers hype because although it is set in the 1990s, people will be expecting her to play a huge role in the Avengers 4 and want to see the movie because of that.

Wow. thats a lot of faith.

I googled some images and tried to read up a story but the bitch had so many names and so many transitions, I'll dive into it later.... maybe.

What i di remember is watching X-Men cartoons on fox and seeing rogue fuck this bitch up, steal her powers, then visit her in the hospital.

lol- I'm not huge into the comics (though interestingly enough had read the original Infinity Gauntlet storyline as a graphic novel a few years back, which I regretted a bit once I saw IW) but I feel like Captain Marvel is a confusing one because, as you indicated- there are different iterations and the Captain Marvel of recent years is not really the same as Ms. Marvel who Rogue drained and stole her powers a la the cartoon show.

That said, it seems like many people on here who do read the comics are pointing to the fact that Danvers is consistently shown to be one of the most powerful Avengers and it seems like the Russos are running with it and are making her ultra powerful which should be cool to see.

Larson is a legitimately good actress so I'm expecting good things.

They've really kind of stacked the deck too because you've got the Skrulls making their first MCU appearance, you've got the return of Lee Pace who was one of Marvel's best villains in my opinion, you've got Sam Jackson, Clark Gregg and you have very good actor Ben Mendelssohn in there as well. Plus Jude Law usually delivers good performances.

I think Thanos will be involved with this movie somehow and will have had a past conflict with Captain Marvel.

This could be considered spoiler territory because it involves how this Infinity Gauntlet conflict came to an end in the comics, so I'll tag it just to be safe.

In the comics some time after Thanos has erased half of life in the universe he gets distracted while speaking with the personification of Eternity, and his daughter Nebula steals the Gauntlet. Eventually Adam Warlock gets the Gauntlet and brings back the people Thanos erased.

Nebula was left alive in this last movie. Adam Warlock hasn't been introduced in the movies yet, so what I think will happen is somehow Nebula will steal the Gauntlet from Thanos, then Captain Marvel uses it to bring back the characters who vanished into dust. So it's not about her saving the day so much as her being the one capable of handling the Gauntlet. I think the focus of the second movie will primarily be on the original six Avengers.

That being said with this movie they're going to have to establish her character and powers, her relationship with Nick Fury and Thanos, and why she's so important at this late stage in the game, so it will take some effort and good execution. However, I'm confident this film will be a financial success, possibly a $billion earner.

I don't know the character too well. I think in the comics she's certainly more powerful than say Captain America, but less than Thor or Hulk. Perhaps Carol or a different Captain Marvel has been more powerful. I think the movie version will be the most powerful. Kevin Feige specifically saying she'll be the strongest hero introduced yet makes me think so anyway.

One version of Captain Marvel (not Carol) was the first hero from Earth that Thanos fought in the comics, so I expect them to adapt that angle somehow, especially in light of the 1990's setting. And obviously with Nick Fury being in this they will set up why he would call her for help when the shit goes down. I think the line Thanos had about turning away from destiny once before will come into play, because as far as I can tell that line didn't refer to anything that we as an audience could be aware of at this point.

The Carol Danvers I remember most from the comics is actually in the Jessica Jones series. In that comic she's Jessica's best friend, and used as a contrast. Jessica is a former Avenger with PTSD who's life is a complete mess, while Carol is a high ranking Avenger and this glamorous, successful hero who has everything going for her. I didn't like her in that series, she was portrayed as kind of a bitch although I think that was the point.

Thanks, that's informative.

Excellent point about that line he says to Gamora- I was racking my brain trying to figure out what he meant by his turning his back on his destiny once before and refusing to do so again. It would be great if there is some cool backstory with Danvers and Thanos revealed in Captain Marvel that adds some significant weight to when she appears in The Avengers 4.

I'm fairly confident that Thanos will appear in this film. I think when the trailer eventually drops it will end with a short Thanos teaser, which will do wonders for it's chances at the box office. Putting the Captain Marvel logo at the end of Infinity War and releasing the movie less than three months before the next Avengers is clearly strategic. I don't think they could connect the movies properly without at least a small appearance from Thanos in Captain Marvel.

Absolutely. That makes a lot of sense.

I'm looking forward to seeing that Kree fanatic the Ronan again, too.

Given how powerful Thanos is, his stealing the orb and then vowing to come after Thanos was a pretty boss move in my opinion. He wasn't exactly pussyfooting around when he spoke with Thanos the first time in Guardians either. Took out The Other right in front of him when he was pissing him off.

I think what Thanos meant was he turned his back on implementing his 50% wipeout plan on Titan. And in the end, Titan still died.

Got you. That makes a lot of sense.

I think I was just interpreting from the viewpoint that he had previously conceived the notion of getting the Infinity Stones but didn't pull the trigger on it for whatever reason.

But what you're saying makes total sense.

Oh and

That look on Gamora's face when she realizes Thanos legitimately loves her. Chills man. That was one of my favorite scenes in the movie even though it was quite obvious Gamora was getting sacrificed the moment that Red Skull mentioned the need for one.

Yeah, so many great moments in Infinity War. Plenty of replay value.

Maybe, but when he told that story to Strange he made it sound like the leaders of Titan refused to consider his plan, not that he himself didn't go through with it. Don't think it could be turning his back on destiny if he didn't have a choice.
