Casting Ronda for something like this just means they don't care at all about how good the movie is, they just want to cash in on someone who happens to be popular at the time.

The Bautista example was bad because he would never have been the star of a movie like Guardians, but with extremely limited dialogue, was an interesting supporting character.

We've all heard enough crazy Hollywood horror stories about whims behind the scenes resulting in disastrous decisions. I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being one of them, I can even imagine a winning pitch for it. The fact Ronda cannot act on any level might not even end up being a factor.
 
I really hope they use someone with real acting experience not just cash in on Ronda's name. Her cameo acting hasn't been stellar.
 
There's just no way they use Ronda Rousey, if they did she'd be let go mid filming for "creative differences" or some other trumped up bullshit to mask her bad attitude and horrible acting
 
Marvel has been shitting out too many super hero movies

I'm not even interested in this new one.

This is true that Bautista wasn't the star or lead but he was actually good in that movie and it wasn't just a cameo or small role. He didn't overact and stayed within himself. Plus that role was a lot more difficult then you think. It's not like he stood in a booth for a couple of days saying "I Am Groot" like 2000 times. He had to get the comic timing down on those one liners and do it with a deadpan delivery. Comedy is some of the hardest acting to pull off especially deadpan comedy.

Honda couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, so it's not fair to compare him to her. She's a terrible actress and has never proven it yet that she can in multiple attempts. Her line delivery in Fast and Furious was cringeworthy.
 
Batista's dumb character was very funny, but it takes a ton of irrational ego to think they can turn Ronda into a Marvel superhero success. What was the phrase Brock Lesnar used on TUF re: chicken salad?

Palicki is mildly attractive, and even she wouldn't do justice to Ms. Marvel.

I never said he wasn't good, I said he would never have been the star.

I will, however, add your point to my own. Using him as an example is bad both because he couldn't have been the star AND he can actually act.

While I agree that Palicki wouldn't be good enough for this, I think "mildly attractive" is a wild under statement.
 
Her fake boobs are a bit too high, she seems a bit too stretched tall like Michelle Wie (not good proportions), from her roles so far, she doesn't seem to have that "it" factor personality like maybe a Mary Louise Parker or Anne Hathaway, her butt is a bit too narrow and flat almost like she might be a guy.
 
She isn't "top of the food chain" hot, but she's more than "mildly attractive".

Maybe she's just my type.

"I'm really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg," said Rousey, who is starring with Wahlberg in Mile 22. "Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really seriously consider me."

If Beyonce has anything to say about it, Rousey would have her pick of the litter in terms of movie roles. The pop diva played Rousey's viral speech on self-worth during a concert last month. "When I heard that Beyonce even knew that I existed I was like, 'What! She even knows that I'm alive?'" Rousey said with a giggle.

She's been announced as the star of Nick Cassavetes' Round House remake, which she revealed was a long time in the making. "I was pursuing Road House for like two years," she said. "I really don't think that any other man could be [Patrick Swayze]. I think that it's a wise angle to take to kind of do a little gender flip of the role."
