Law Capitol Rioter Megathread

Former Boston cop says he will plead guilty to attacking a Capitol Police officer with a chair during failed Jan. 6 putsch

damn. they are even using steel chairs.

law and order baby. back the blue. blue lives matter.

Matthew Krol's sentencing day is supposed to be today. this staunch member of the party of law and order had stolen a police baton and used it to violently strike at least 3 officers. a US Capitol Police Sergeant's right hand was badly injured because of him. he pled guilty back in august. the DOJ is asking for 78 months. ill post back with the update for this one. hopefully the judge hands him down at least a nickel.

he doesnt seem to be remorseful either. we'll see if he still has no regrets about what he did when he enters the big house.

MAGA Trash from St. Augustine learns his sentence for Jan. 6, 2021, mob attack

giphy.gif

A St. Augustine man joins a long list of U.S. Capitol rioters sentenced for his violent participation in the planned Jan. 6, 2021, breach.

Anthony L. Sargent, 47, must serve five years in federal prison on a felony count of civil disorder and misdemeanor charges that included the destruction of property; entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings.

He was sentenced Friday in Washington after pleading guilty on July 21. U.S. District Court Judge Dabney Friedrich also ordered 36 months of supervised release and restitution of $2,980, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Columbia.

The mass of protesters disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to review the electoral votes in the 2020 presidential election.

Several videos show Sargent attempting to breach the north entrance to the Capitol building, pushing with the mob against officers, according to court documents. After the officers retreated into the Capitol, Sargent picked up a heavy rock-like object about the size of a softball and twice hurled it at the doors.

Sargent also physically separated an officer from a rioter he was trying to detain. He then grabbed and pushed the officer away from his post and into the mob of rioters, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Leading up to the Jan. 6 attack, Sargent had vocalized on the messaging platform of the right-wing extremist group Proud Boys his support for a riot and civil war, the documents said. He was arrested on Sept. 21, 2021, in St. Augustine.

In the 35 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,230 individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 440 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.

Michigan MAGA Trash sentenced to 51 months in prison for role in Jan. 6 capital riots

WASHINGTON D.C. – Matthew Krol, 64, of Linden, Michigan, was sentenced on Friday (Dec. 15) to 51 months in prison and 36 months of supervised release and ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution by U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras for his role in the Jan 6. riots at the nation's capital.

According to documents for the US Justice Department, Krol pleaded guilty on Aug. 15, 2023, to one count of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers using a dangerous weapon, a felony.

According to court documents, on Jan. 6, 2021, Krol—a self-professed executive officer of the Genesee County, Michigan Volunteer Militia and associate of the Wolverine Watchmen, an extremist group comprised of individuals convicted in the plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer—joined the storming of the police line on the West Plaza of the Capitol grounds, stole a police baton from an officer by pulling the officer in circles before wrestling it away, and celebrated his conduct by holding the baton in the air.

Krol then used that same police baton to strike at least three police officers, badly injuring the right hand of a U.S. Capitol Police Sergeant.

"Krol traveled to Washington, D.C., from his home in Michigan to attend the 'Stop the Steal' rally and afterward made his way to the U.S. Capitol building, where he eventually found himself facing off with a line of police officers on the West Plaza of the Capitol grounds," the Justice Department said. "Court documents say that Krol was one of the most active instigators in the violent clash between police and rioters that ultimately forced officers to retreat from the West Plaza."

According to the Justice Department, prior to his attack on police, at about 2:28 p.m., Krol pushed forward through the crowd of rioters on the West Plaza and threw a water bottle at police. He then physically attacked the line of police officers several times.

Shortly after, at about 2:29 p.m., US Capitol Police Sergeant Aquilino Gonell was assisting another officer who had fallen to the ground when "Krol approached, raised the stolen baton, and violently struck downward on the Sergeant Gonell’s outstretched bare right hand with the police baton. As a result of the attack, Sergeant Gonell experienced significant injuries to his hand," Justice Department officials said.

Krol was arrested on Feb. 22, 2022, in Michigan.

In the 35 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,230 individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 440 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, a felony. The investigation remains ongoing.

Miami GOP up-and-comer arrested and charged in storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6

Barbara Balmaseda, a 23- year-old Miami Lakes woman with ties to Miami GOP circles, was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges related to her role in storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the U.S. Justice Department said Monday, Dec. 18, 2023.

"MIAMI — A 23-year-old Miami Lakes woman who traveled in Miami Republican circles has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges related to her role in storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the U.S. Justice Department said Monday.

Barbara Balmaseda, who interned for U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio between 2018 and 2019, according to Miami New Times, was arrested Thursday in Miami Lakes. She has been charged in a criminal complaint with obstructing an official proceeding, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building or grounds, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.

The Coral Gables attorney who represented her in Miami, Aubrey Webb, issued a statement Monday. Here is an excerpt of that statement:

“It was unnecessary for the federal task force comprising of the FBI, Marshals, ATF, and Metro-Dade Police to arrest her for essentially trespassing charges,” Webb said. “When the FBI contacted us over a year ago, I told them that she will voluntarily surrender if they ever want to arrest her. We are also disappointed that it took almost three years for DOJ to decide to charge her. ... She is relieved this process will finally move toward a final resolution. “

Talk about hype derailment.

I still do not get this whole "Storming the Capitol" Narrative when there were doors opened for people and they were let in.

It's almost like there were 2 scenarios happening at the same time. Very Bizarre.

Regardless, this Democrat butt-fucking sex-tape was worse than 9/11, January 6th, and Pearl Harbor x100.

Remember, just prior to the election, cities across the country were not boarding up their business to protect themselves from 'The Proud Boys".

"it was a peaceful sightseeing tour. they were all let in."

yeah fuck off chud. nobody is buying your bullshit narrative. especially not the courts. you little shits are just so disingenuous about everything.

if it was hillary supporters who stormed the capitol, we would never hear the end of it from you muppets. suddenly it wouldn't be just some kind of peaceful and orderly sightseeing tour at the capitol, and you wouldnt be doing your whole chuddy chuddy spinny spinny to try to downplay or excuse these domestic terrorists disgusting crimes against their country. it would be worse than those fiery but mostly peaceful BLM riots. maybe even 9/11!

yeah we'd definately never here the end of it from you if it was the other side who stormed the capitol. but that didnt happen. all you had to show for that was that one picture of hillary clinton's one and only fan screaming to the sky, meanwhile 4 years later an army of mentally fragile maga toddlers got severely butthurt and melted the fuck down because the frauster and rapist who they adore so dearly got pink socked in the election, so a whole bunch of them threw on their maga nappy's and their gravy seals costumes and threw the most nuclear toddler tantrum that the country has ever seen and they went on over to the capitol, beat up a bunch of cops, and then got hauled off to jail just to own the libs.

never forget, you represent the party of law & order and personal accountability. try to do better next time. after your boy gets his shit pushed in some more in another election, you should probably just order up some extra-absorbant maga crying towels, beat that little dick off to some more of your hunter biden nudes, and just stay home, clutch on to your binkie, and stick to crying your eyes out on twitter this time. you should know by now that little trumpy wumpy ain't gonna come to your rescue if you go and do anything stupid and then wind up in jail crying for your mommy with all the rest of the maga toddlers. the dude who stole your build-the-wall money is much more important to diaper don than any of you chucklefucks.

New York Woman Sentenced on Felony and Misdemeanor Charges for Actions During Jan. 6 Capitol Breach

WASHINGTON – A New York woman was sentenced to prison today on several felony and misdemeanor charges related to her conduct during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Her actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

Sara Carpenter, 54, of Richmond Hill, New York, was sentenced to 22 months in prison and 24 months of supervised release by U.S. District Chief Judge James E. Boasberg. A federal jury in the District of Columbia found Carpenter guilty on March 9, 2023, of felony charges, civil disorder, and obstruction of an official proceeding. Carpenter was also convicted of misdemeanor charges of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, impeding passage through the Capitol grounds or buildings, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.

According to court documents, on Jan. 6, 2021, Carpenter, who once served as a police officer in New York City, was among rioters gathered at the west front of the Capitol building. Carpenter then made her way up the Inaugural stage, ignoring barriers, and a line of police officers. As she ascended to the stage, tear-gar smoke enveloped the crowd on the West Plaza.

Outside the emergency doors on the Upper West Terrace, Carpenter's fellow rioters had been using Inaugural stage construction material and stolen barriers to build an obstacle between the rioters and officers. The makeshift barrier did not slow Carpenter, moving a bike rack barrier clearly marked "AREA CLOSED" and marched up the steps to the doors.

Carpenter entered the Capitol through the Upper West Terrace emergency exit doors while shaking a tambourine ignoring a blaring alarm

Once inside the Capitol building, Carpenter rallied other rioters in the Rotunda to follow her into the Old Senate Chamber hallway. There, Carpenter made her way up to the front of a mob and faced another line of officers, screaming at them: "I am a f-ing animal," "it ain't stopping," "do you hear me back there?" Carpenter's actions ignited the crowd behind her, who pushed against the police to get past them. During the confrontation, Carpenter slapped away the arm of an officer, who was trying to push her back, with her tambourine. Other rioters even tried, unsuccessfully, to hold her back and dissuade her from further violence.

The evidence at trial showed that Carpenter refused direct orders from police to leave the building. As the mob pushed, Carpenter continued to say, "This is my house" and "no" as officers attempted to force her back. Officers eventually deployed pepper spray to disperse the crowd. While many of the rioters retreated, Carpenter did not. Carpenter remained, telling the police, "This ain't nothing," when referring to the spray. And, despite the violence and the pepper spray, Carpenter remained inside the Capitol until she was pushed out through the Rotunda Doors by police. In total, Carpenter spent over thirty minutes inside.

As Carpenter exited the building, she raised her tambourine in triumph, celebrating what she believed was her success in stopping Congress from certifying the 2020 presidential election result. On the steps of the East Rotunda Doors, Carpenter rejoiced, announcing, "The breach was made, and it needs to calm down now. Congress needs to come out, they need to certify Zesto Molesto as president, and this is our house."

The FBI arrested Carpenter on March 23, 2021, in Jamaica, N.Y.

This case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. Valuable assistance was provided by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

This case was investigated by the FBI's Washington Field Office. Valuable assistance was provided by the FBI's New York Field Office, the U.S. Capitol Police, the U.S. Secret Service, and the Metropolitan Police Department.

Let me ask you a question, why were some people let into the Capitol without incident while others fought with the Police?

just out of curiosity, what is your melting point?

back the blue vs blue...?

WASHINGTON — Nearly three years ago, a young professional in the nation's capital was sitting in her apartment after the Jan. 6 attack and saw that the FBI was looking for help identifying the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol. So she opened up the Bumble dating app, changed her political beliefs to conservative and got to swiping.

The woman reached out to several Donald Trump supporters who the app showed were in the Washington, D.C. area, hoping to elicit confessions from those who had flooded into the city because they believed his lies about the 2020 presidential election.

On Wednesday, one of the Bumble users she turned in to the FBI pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement officers with chemical spray and a metal whip.

Andrew Taake, a 35-year-old from Texas, pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement officers with a deadly and dangerous weapon, admitting that he used both bear spray and the metal whip to attack officers, during a hearing before U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols in Washington. Taake, who had been ordered held in pretrial detention after his arrest in July 2021, appeared in a sparsely filled courtroom on Wednesday in an orange prison jumpsuit.

"Guilty," Taake pleaded, telling Nichols he was entering his plea voluntarily and of his own free will.

The woman referred to as "Witness 1” in Taake's FBI affidavit has previously recalled how "comically minimal ego-stroking" from her led Trump supporters to give her information about their activities on Jan. 6.
