the funny thing is that even if they have some kind of real world evidence that would exonerate these people (which they don't), they're still fucked. most of them taken plea deals and as part of their plea deals they waive their right to appeal whatever sentence the judge hands down. we're at a little over 600 guilty pleas and over 700 convictions so far. the ones who rolled the dice on a trial are mostly people who assaulted police and shit. those people are already up shits creek. it doesnt matter what kind of video footage and propaganda pieces that super duper ultra maga johnny herps out on twitter. that doesnt make it legal for them to assault police.

It's an idiotic defense that's been trotted around now for over a year. This is just the latest nothingburger edition.

In order to successfully argue entrapment, these defendants would have to argue that but for the States actions, they would not have committed X crime. So Bubba would have to argue that but for that police officers stepping aside; but for that open window; but for the deep state inciting them; they would not have committed the crime.

So it's a retarded argument to say that cops standing by while a mob walks by is what caused them to break into the Capital and smear their shit on the walls.

And it will be an easy thing to watch play out. This won't help a single defendant. And that's something we can all watch as time passes. It only serves to give fuel to the 5% purest of the MAGA tards like MTG, and is only swallowed by geriatrics like @CantCucktheTuck .

Thing is, this only plays to the trump base that is already locked in for life. They'll follow him off the cliff at this point. But for the rest of America, and critically those independents that Trump is WAY behind on in key battleground states like PN and AZ, this is just another example of republicans wasting our time since they can't govern.

generally withholding exculpatory evidence would nullify a plea deal and in a functioning justice system would get the case tossed too.
