Eh', it's a snap election. They can't really "rush" anything that wasn't already in the cards, and it's what conservatives have wanted for years. They're all playing by the same rules. He'll face as much scrutiny as his opponent. Both main candidates have the same "unknown" aura about them. It's good that he's calling the election in short order, instead of dragging it out until October(or beyond, which I think Carney could actually do).

It's not like Carney will get hammered in a debate and say "Okay, election is tomorrow!" A date will be set, and they'll have that time to make their case.
